The beginning

Natasha’s POV

So I ran... I ran till I no longer heard the sound of gunshots...I ran till I was away from the danger zone...But I knew that it was far from over... The war has killed millions but somehow I survived... Where I went the enemies went after... I know I ran away from my responsibilities but I also know that a soldier’s job is too stay alive. And I tried to do just that. I tried to get home and help my family. I knew that where-ever I want I was in danger but I didn’t care. I knew that my family and friends always came first... Even if they may not even be alive now.

Let me start in the beginning. A few centuries ago my great-grandfather made a deal with our rivals. I don’t know what the deal was but I know that because of it a 2 hundred year war began. It hasn’t stopped yet. And no one knows the cause. It had to be something important to start a war because of. The only people who know what the deal is are our enemies. I tried to talk to them but they kidnapped me and didn’t let me go till they were told of my name. What is so special about me, plain old Natasha Collins, that they let me go. What could be so special a girl who is still stuck studying in school...even if it exploded. What could be so special about a girl whose parents hate her because she ran away and got stuck in a war with no way back. Why did they let me go?

So here I am running away from the people that let me run and didn’t try to stop me. Why? I tried to forget their shocked faces when they heard my name. I tried to forget the face of one of the younger ones. I think I heard the others call him Drew D-something. He looked at me so weirdly. I couldn’t understand what feeling he had in his eyes. Was it anger, sympathy or sorrow? I didn’t want to think about it anymore...

I kept running until I could no longer feel my legs. I had no clue where I was going and who would be there. but I knew that I had to get away from these people. I had to survive.

I ran into the fog. I could hardly see anything...It was dark. I was falling. The air pushed against my face, I closed my eyes, waiting for the inevitable. Then everything went black...
