Chapter 1 - The move
“Mom, do we have to move?” asked Kayla, looking at her mom through their car's review mirror waiting for her response. When her mom pushed the brakes at the red light then turned around to look at Kayla. Her mom said with a smile. “This move is supposed to be a step forward, you will get a new school, I will get a new job and we will be in an amazing new neighbourhood.” Even though Kayla’s mom knew she can’t make Kayla accept it she still wanted to try.
Another hour passed before they got to the new house. Kayla’s mom is nervous hoping her daughter will be a little excited for the move walking up to the front door. They both starred before walking in.
The new house was amazing. It has four bedrooms along with a bathroom for each two empty rooms a family room a kitchen a living room this house has everything. It is perfect for this family.
When I am walking through the house. I heard the door suddenly open. Curious, I walk up to it and crack it a little further to see who is on the other side. I look and see my dad and sister picking up boxes and bringing them to the front door so we can unpack.
I watch this remembering they were driving behind us to the new house. I wave and run away to the next floor to pick my bedroom so there will be less boxes to deal with later.
As I walk around I find the room that suits me best, it is big but not small and small but not big it is perfect. When I hear that sentence in my mind I immediately go to the fairy tale goldilocks. The childhood memories of hearing that story over and over it is hard not to like.
After that I went down and up the stairs getting my boxes from the car, making sure I had everything before un packing. As I got my new room ready I couldn’t help but think about the old house. “Honey, can you come down here and help me?” I walked out of my room and looked down the stairs to see my mom working hard to get the house together. I walked down the steps and walked to the kitchen, it had a nice white marble counter and wood cabinets for storage.
