Chapter 1: The Man Who Never lied!

The first person I ever killed smiled before they died.

Not because they wanted to.

Because they believed I was there to save them.

People always assume monsters look different. They expect cold eyes, twisted smiles, or bloodstained hands. The truth is far more terrifying.

Monsters look ordinary.

I should know.

I've spent twenty-eight years pretending to be a good person.

The city called itself the safest place on Earth. Every street had cameras. Every conversation was recorded. Every lie was punished. People believed justice was automatic, fairness guaranteed.

They were wrong.

The greatest lie wasn't told by criminals.

It was told by the people who created the rules.

And I was about to prove it.

The phone in my pocket vibrated.

UNKNOWN NUMBER

I answered.

A calm voice whispered, "If you want to know who erased your mother's memories, leave your apartment in exactly three minutes. Come alone."

The call ended.

I stared at the screen, my heartbeat echoing through the silent room.

My mother had been dead for ten years.

So who had just spoken?

And how did they know the one secret I had never told another living soul?
