He always tries to push himself to be the best, he has a hard time with his faith after his mom passed away. Marcus just wants to leave and find himself so he can live the way he feels is right.
On October 15, 2005, Sierra Jane Widow sneaks out of her house and runs into the forest behind her father's house, leaving a note on her bed. On that same day a boy, Marcus Kyson Rich, sneaks out of his house, putting a letter to his father by the coffee maker. Their notes read;
Sierra: "Dear daddy, please don't you worry when you don't find me today. I left last night into the forest. Please tell momma all of this as well. I left for some relief and am planning to stay in contact, but you guys are putting a lot of pressure on me, and I cannot deal with it much longer. I do hope you can understand where I am coming from with this, I do not know if I will be visiting but I will stay in contact and give updates of how I am doing. Yes, I know what you're thinking, and I will find a way for money and a place to live. I love you both and I hope you won't be mad. I do want to work on my faith as well, have a beautiful day daddy."
Marcus: "Dear papa, I really need some time to find myself and just get away from everything, I will visit as much as I can, and I will find a job and a place to live. Please don't be worried, I will be okay. Papa, please visit mama's grave and put a white rose for me, I will be trying to build my faith on this journey and work through some issues I have found with myself. Papa, I love you and I hope you aren't upset with me, have a lovely day."
In the woods, Marcus finds a lake and collapses beside it. Sierra runs fast and collapses on the other side, she looks up and sees Marcus, Marcus looks up and sees Sierra. They lock eyes and start laughing as they see each other's chests heaving, realizing they had been doing the same thing. A wolf howls and Sierra runs to the other side of the lake as her chest heaves.
Marcus laughs and Sierra spots a cabin, "Ooh look at that, abandoned cabin. That's a place to live." she says, pointing. Marcus looks over and they both sprint to the cabin, after side glancing at each other. They both tried to rush in at the same time.
