All Rights Reserved ©

Summary

Mariah has loved Ethan for years, but he's always treated her like a little sister. Afraid of rejection and tired of the mixed signals, she agrees to a risky plan created by her younger sister, Elena—a fake relationship designed to make Ethan jealous. Meanwhile, Ethan struggles with feelings he's spent years trying to bury, convinced that loving his best friend's sister could destroy everything he values. As jealousy grows, old wounds reopen, friendships are tested, and one misunderstanding after another pushes everyone to their breaking point. With summer coming to an end, every secret is exposed, every heart is on the line, and everyone must decide whether to keep hiding behind fear or finally fight for the people they truly love. A heartfelt coming-of-age romance filled with family, friendship, laughter, heartbreak, and the reminder that true love is always worth the risk.

Chapter 1

Mariah:

It was a sunny morning in Georgia. Me and my family lived in Peachtree City. I have a family  of 5, me, my brother Jackson,  my mum, dad, and my little sister Elena. I'm in high-school.  Sophomore year.  While my elder brother Jackson,  is a senior.  And my little sister Elena is a freshman.

Well as we all know, its summer. The season to spend with family. My dad traveled to Mexico, to visit my uncle,  who just recently bought a new house. While my mum had a highschool reunion,  so she had to travel all the way to Washington Dc. So it's just us at home.

[Jackson]: why are you looking at me like that ?. [Mariah]: can you please drop me at Justin's house ?. [ Jackson]: why ?. If it's not for your studies,  then the answer is no. [Mariah]: well, we have a project,  due tomorrow,  so I need to go to her house. [ Jackson]: why can't  she come here. I don't like you wondering around,  it's not safe, especially for you.

Mariah:

You always say that.

Jackson:

Because it's the truth.  If it's that important,  text her and tell her to come over. me and the boys are having a game night,  so I need no noise.  Stay in your room, and be of use . You  Get me.

Mariah:

B..but.

Jackson:

No buts. You heard me, either that or the will be no visits. Get that.

Mariah:

Fine. You always do this.

Jackson:

Bye princess,  I need to restock the fridge,  before the boys arrive.  Don't leave this house, and if you do. I will know.
