Chapter 1
Hold me close, and don’t you leave,
Let me pretend this won’t end,
That this is ours, that we believe
We’ll always have these days to spend.
Watching TV between our kisses,
Snuggled close with silly grins,
Those quiet, ordinary little moments
Are where my happiness begins.
And when the morning breaks anew,
And I wake up beside you there,
The very best part is finding you -
Still beside me, warm and near.
I miss this more than words can say,
The laughter, warmth, the care,
And every time you go away,
I feel the distance everywhere.
Long distance is a cruel old game,
With miles between the hearts that beat,
So I count the days until your name
Becomes the person I can meet.
Until then, I’ll hold you in my dreams,
And count each sunrise, one by one,
Until the miles are torn at the seams
And I’m back where I belong.
So hold me close, and don’t let go,
Let’s pretend forever’s ours to keep.
I love you more than you could know,
And I even miss you in my sleep.
