The Summer of Jake and Sarah was born from my love for the world of werewolves and vampires—the mystery, the rivalries, the supernatural struggles, and the powerful friendships that exist between them. Inspired by movies that captured my imagination, such as Teen Wolf, The Vampire Diaries, The Twilight Saga, and The Originals, I wanted to create my own supernatural adventure filled with secrets, emotions, action, and unexpected connections. While this story draws inspiration from my appreciation for the supernatural genre, Jake and Sarah’s journey is its own tale—one about Enemies who become unlikely allies, united not by choice, but by circumstances beyond their control. I hope you enjoy exploring the mysteries of Ashford Cove and following Jake and Sarah as they face the challenges of a world where vampires, werewolves, and humans must decide whether they are destined to fight each other or stand together.

Summary

Seventeen-year-old Jake is sent to the quiet coastal town of Ashford Cove to spend the summer with his aunt while attending summer school to make up his English and biology grades. Hoping for a fresh start, he never expects to meet Sarah—a teenage vampire with lots of secrets. When Jake discovers Sarah's true nature, he accepts her for who she is, and an unlikely friendship begins to grow. But when Sarah learns that Jake is a werewolf, everything changes. Raised to believe that werewolves and vampires are sworn enemies, she declares him her enemy. As the two turn against each other, a far more dangerous evil begins to emerge from the shadows, leaving chaos in its wake across Ashford Cove. Can Jake and Sarah put aside centuries of hatred and work together before it's too late? Or will their rivalry allow the true monster to destroy everything they hold dear? Prologue

[ASHFORD COVE - NIGHT - 1903]

There was a big steamship called CORALINE. It carried people and goods up and down the coast. On June 12, 1903, it was near Ashford Cove.

A fast, bad storm hit. It wasn’t normal for summer. The waves got huge. The wind broke the ship’s wheel. Coraline crashed into the sharp rocks right outside the cove.

The ship sank in 6 minutes. 147 people were on board. No one made it out. Kids, moms, sailors — all of them drowned in the same spot.

The next morning, the water in the cove turned black. Like oil. When bodies washed up on the beach, their mouths were full of seaweed. Their eyes were open, like they saw something scary.
