The Beau/Belles

To the reader who finds my story,

The Beau/Belles was written at the end of 2020 during a time of grieving for my family. My beloved grandfather, who had always taken pride and delight in my creative pursuits, had passed away. It was a great blow to all of us and a time of heightened emotions. In short, I was not okay.

In the midst of this, I found myself turning to writing to escape the dense, cloying stink of pain and tears. Putting pen to paper had become, at that point, my saving grace amidst the trials and tribulations of a pandemic that seemed to have no end. Penning this story was my means of escape; an avenue I'm almost certain my grandfather who was an English professor would have approved of.

So, I am publishing this story in all its glory. Unedited, unpolished and full of mistakes. Though it has been hosted on Wattpad for the better part of five to six years, I have thought it best to bring it here. In light of the W site's new restrictions, who knows when they'll decide harmless fairytale adaptations are not cut out for the delicate sensitivities of their remaining audience.

So, dear reader, I hope you find some comfort in my story. It brought me in my time of great need.
