Starting

She stood at the bus stop, quietly waiting for her bus, her eyes occasionally drifting toward the road as the traffic passed by.

From the opposite side, a young man from a nearby office approached, lost in his own thoughts and completely unaware of her presence.

Neither of them had ever seen the other before. They were complete strangers—two people living their own separate lives, until, for a brief and unexpected moment, their paths crossed.

As he walked past, they accidentally bumped into each other.

Their eyes met for barely a second.

No words were exchanged. No apology, no smile, no curious glance that lingered a little too long.

Just a brief moment of awkward silence.

And then, as if nothing had happened, they simply walked past each other and went on with their day.

Neither of them knew it yet, but that insignificant little collision was the first page of a story neither had planned to begin.

jo987_123: This is a good story, but it needs a good editor to go through this iteration and fix the mistakes. The pov changes from 1st person to 3rd person, often, and sometimes within one sentence. It needs a liberal sprinkling of punctuation marks throughout, and a decision needs to be made about the char...

Biva: Quite good for a novella. Impressive writing style and we'll edited. Just one thing- Karla keeps referring herself to a stray cat and while at first it makes sense the analogy gets stale after a while.
