Chapter 1 – Approaching Cute Mizo Girl
The Mira Road bus was packed tight, the air thick with damp clothes and metallic tang of rain. Outside, the downpour hammered the bus roof and streaked the windows into blurred rivers of headlights and traffic. Abhay stood near the seats, eye glasses fogging at the edges, bag slung over one shoulder.
He had seen a girl named Rini almost every day in bus for three weeks. She sat two seats away, earbuds in, gaze fixed on the wet blur beyond the window glass. She is in tight white top and loose jeans that still clung to soft curve of her thighs whenever she shifted. Her face has southeast Asian features—narrow small eyes, egg-shaped face, long black hair damp at the ends. She has Petite body frame, fair skin glowing under the fluorescent lights, the modest shape of her breasts clear beneath the thin fabric. She is Quiet and cute in a way that kept pulling his eyes back.
Usually she travelled with a Mizo guy, Zuala—probably her boyfriend. Today he was absent. Abhay’s stomach tightened. Today it is a chance to talk to her. He was nervous as hell, but he wanted it.
When a few passengers got off, he moved closer and took the same pole she was holding.
The conductor worked his way down the aisle. Rini pulled out a ₹500 note. The man stared.
“Madam, ticket is eight rupees only. How am I supposed to give change for this?”
She checked her purse, came up empty, and looked mildly stranded. The conductor’s irritation rose. Abhay stepped in and paid before he could think better of it.
Rini glanced up at him with small brown eyes, slow and assessing the situation. He offered a warm smile. Something sparked in her eyes; the corner of her mouth twitched almost into a smile.
“Do you have GPay?” she asked in a soft Mizo accent. “I’ll pay you now.”
He gave her his number. She typed it in, transferred the money, and that was that—his number was in her phone. He hadn’t wanted the money back, but the contact sharing was worth more.
A woman beside her stood to get off. Abhay took the empty seat next to Rini.
He spoke in soft voice. “It’s raining like hell out there. I didn’t even bought my umbrella.”
“It can rain anytime in Mumbai” she answered, the words nearly swallowed by the engine and the rain. "You can get bright sunshine, then suddenly a heavy shower, sometimes within the same hour"
“You’re from the Northeast, right?” he asked curiously.
A tiny pause. “Yes.”
“I’m Abhay.”
She nodded. “I’m Rini. What about you? What do you do?”
“I’m an accountant. I’m just heading home right now.”
“Oh, nice. So you deal with money all day?”
“Yeah, I handle it all day. But none of it’s mine.” He chuckled. “It’s like being a cat at a fish market—you can look all you want, but you can’t take a bite.”.”
She gave a small, amused laugh. “I work at a restaurant.”
“Oh, I know. I see you walking that way most mornings.”
She turned her head, eyes narrowing with playful suspicion. “So you’ve been stalking me?”
“No, no.” He laughed. “I mean, who wouldn’t notice a beautiful girl walking by every day?”
Colour rose in her cheeks. She looked away, then back, and gave his shoulder a light, teasing shove.
They talked for a few more stops, their conversation flowed easily. Her soft accent carried over the rumble of the bus, and every now and then, she glanced at him or lightly tapped his arm as she spoke. He found himself listening a little more closely than he needed to.
When the bus reached near their stop, they both got to their feet. Neither said anything for a moment, but there was a brief hesitation before they stepped toward the door, as though neither was quite ready for the conversation to end.
Outside, the rain was still coming down hard. She opened her umbrella and glanced back. He was already getting wet.
“Come under the umbrella, or you’ll catch a cold.” She shifted it toward him, making room.
He stepped closer, taking the handle from her. “Let me hold it. I’m taller.”
She looked up at him, a small smile tugging at her lips. “Fine.”
She stepped closer beneath the umbrella. Within a few steps, rain was still catching her shoulder, so he slid his arm around her and drew her tighter against him. Her body was warm in the cold air. For a while, neither of them spoke. His cock had been half-hard the entire walk, pressing against his trousers while they navigated the slick road side by side.
They reached the railway station. She closed the umbrella and shook a few drops from it.
Before he could think better of it, he spoke.
“You have my number. Give me a ring sometime. If you don’t mind.”
She looked at him a second longer than necessary, then pulled out her phone with wet fingers and dialled. His phone vibrated once in his pocket.
Her train arrived. She stepped aboard. The white top was already starting to cling to the small, soft shape of her breasts.
Abhay stood on the platform, watching until she disappeared into the crowded train carriage.
