Everything in the universe, which nature has arranged in accordance with a systematic plan, seems both in the part and the whole to have been settled and arranged in accordance with Number by the forethought and mind of the Creator of Everything. The model was established like an outline pattern from the prevalence of the Number pre-existent in the mind of God, Creator of the universe—the Number was simply a concept, entirely without material form, and yet the everlasting essentiality, in order that time, movement, the sky, the stars, every kind of astral revolution, every one of these things, might be produced with it, as from a Workman’s Plan.
