Another Kind of Shakespearean Romance

All Rights Reserved ©

Summary

Theo and Hamlet fell for the same girl. They fought for her. And in the end, both were rejected by her. That should have been the last time they ever saw each other. Fate, it seemed, had other ideas.

It's being published!

Hello everyone, J.A.M. here!

It's with a big smile that I can announce that "Another Kind of Shakespearean Romance" is being published on Galatea!

I first wrote this story 8 years ago, on March 3rd, 2018. And as cheesy as it sounds, it did come to me in a dream. haha

I wrote it over the course of a weekend. I came back to it soon after to add some stuff, and then never touched it again.

For years, I kept thinking about the boys, Theo and Hamlet. Their story kept developing in the back of my brain. Things that I wished to change. Their story that I wished to flesh out. Yet I never did.

And still a lot of people here liked it. I got commenters throughout the years leaving their thoughts, and I loved it every time.

Like I said, it was always the plan to sit down and rewrite the boy's story for my own enjoyment, and a few months ago, I was approached by Galatea, the paid reading service which is a part of Inkitt, or is Inkitt a part of Galatea? I'm unsure.

Anyways, after accepting their desire to publish a reworked version of this story and working hard the past few months, I can finally say that the final product is complete and ready for publication sometime in Autumn of this year, 2026.

As part of the deal, I had to delete everything but the first five chapters of the original story here on Inkitt, and let me tell ya'll that pressing that Delete button every time hurt my soul. Before doing so, I downloaded the original chapters and screenshotted all of the comments and reactions for my own memories.

I tend to ramble a lot, and I'm gonna stop now, but to end, I'll say this: the original 10-chapter story, spanning over the course of a week, has now developed into a 33-chapter story spanning over the course of a whole summer break.

I love how their story develops, how they grow, and all of the new things we learn from the boys. Even these five chapters that I'm allowed to leave up here are so vastly different from what happens in the new version that it might as well be a parallel dimension of Theo and Hamlet's original story.

If you have the chance and the interest to see the new and revamped "Another Kind of Shakespearean Romance", then I welcome you to Galatea.

I'm unsure if past readers get a notification about new chapters in old stories they've read, but even if they can't see this update, I want to thank all the 10,000+ readers this little story has had over the years. It was thanks to their reading and interactions that I even got the opportunity to bring this story to its full potential, 8 whole years after I first published it here, birthed from a silly dream I had one night and forged from a manic writing weekend episode.

I welcome you to read the boy's story, new and improved, and happy reading here and elsewhere!

Best always,

J.A.M.

Ku_Rolet: The novel was good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I love the leads and their bond, but I have one question that confused me. How could Tristan have been dreaming about his mate since he was a child if Omara was already mated to someone else before him? If Kyle had accepted Omara, would Tristan ne...
