Chapter 1
(Allison’s P.O.V)
I cursed as I looked around the deserted road then went on to kicked the front wheel of my stupid ’67 chevy impala, I had only got her back three months ago if even.
I had a friend who was willing to Restore the engine for me, and at a decent price too, but obviously, he didn’t do a very good job seen as this was the fourth time it’s completely stopped on me, not only that but this time the engine was smoking and I knew for a fact that something was defiantly wrong.
After taking a breather I came to the conclusion that this problem could not be fixed with a roll of duck tape and a bit of luck,
much like many of my other problems,
so weighing out my options, and counting out my money I made the final decision to call a tow truck and get my chevy to a mechanic as soon as possible, even If that meant spending the last of my money,
It was worth it, besides a few sets of easily replaceable clothes and bathroom essentials this car was the only thing I cared about, the only thing I was not willing to leave behind, so I’ll be damned if I let anything happen to it or even worse leave it collecting dust in some storage unit.
So finally growing a set, I grabbed my duffel bag out of the front and locked It in the trunk, then proceeded to throw my handbag over my left shoulder
the sky was starting to darken so I had decided to start walking back to the town about 3 or 4 miles in the opposite direction to try and get the number of the local mechanic, as soon as my car was fixed Id either be on my way or stick around for another day or two.
It feels like forever since I’v stayed In a town long enough to get confutable and settle down,
When in reality it couldn’t have been longer then three months since Iv last had a place to call home.
Shaking my head to clear my train of thought I carry on my journey.
okay, so maybe I underestimated how far away the town actually was
It was pitch black, I have been walking for around two hours and I was officially freezing, I was completely and totally lost, I’ve always been good at navigating my way around, but I just wasn’t having an ounce of luck today,
between being pulled over by the cops this morning, slowly starting to run out of money and now this, I was done for the day, I just wanted to eat, shower and curl up in a nice warm bed,
I couldn’t see that happing tho, so pulling up my socks (metaphorically of course) I continued walking on till I couldn’t anymore, mentally and physically tired I decided to take a seat on the side of the deserted country road.
A few minutes later, just as I was standing up after getting my wits about me I hear the hum of an engine coming my way,
after weighing out the pros and cons of flagging down the oncoming truck, I decided it would be too dangerous and simply move to the side of the road and continue walking
turning my head slightly I take notice of the truck starting to slow down at it approaches me, urging me to walk faster, as the truck comes to a complete stop right in front of me blocking my path I stop walking and being panicking, I feel my legs start to weaken as anxiety hits me full force, but I still manage to hold my self together as the driver’s side door opens.
From the height of the figure (around 6′1-6′3) and the build I can tell that’s it’s a male, that alone makes me even more nervous, I try to make out his facial features as he walks around the front of his truck, coming closer to me, but I still can’t seem to make out what he looks like in the dark,
after a few weird moments of silence I decided to break it, “can I help you” I speak first my voice low and quiet, but even I can hear the underlined almost undetectable fear
“actually love, I was thinking that maybe it would be the other way around” his voice was low and husky, It sent a shiver down my spine before I get the change to reply he continues “the chevy impala mile’s back wouldn’t happen to be your’s now would it”
somehow I could just tell that he was smirking, “yeah, It’s mine, I’m on my way to town to trying to find a mechanic” I don’t know why I just gave him all that information
“well love, I can a sure you that the garage is closed and your still another 40-45 minutes away from town, If you want I could bring you back to your car and if the problem Is not one I can fix tonight I’ll drive you back to town and you book into a motel for the night” when he finished I was left shocked, why would he do something like that for me of all people, hell he doesn’t even know me
“well what do you say,” he asks when I don’t respond Immediately, “yeah, that sounds like a good idea” I respond quietly realizing I don’t really have a choice If I want my car to get fixed
He motions to the passenger side of his truck as he goes to open the door for me, making sure to keep my distance I hop In, just praying for this night to be over.
