Chapter 1
I sat in my room, thinking of all that happen today, nothing. I was broke from my train of thought when I heard my mom call me telling me that dinner was ready. I went down the stairs to the kitchen to see my mom talking in the phone like always.
Her dark blonde hair and big green apples eyes like mine always radiating everywhere. My mom, you would said could be one of those models, not the super skinny ones, the curvy but not fat ones. Sometimes I think that she is not my mother because of the different body types, me looking like a little tree, and her like a goddess. The only thing we had in common was our eyes.
Now coming back to the present. I swear she never gets tired of talking with her friends of who did what or who cheated on who, like man relax take a break and go to sleep. I went to see what we had for dinner today and I saw a bowl full of spaghetti with meatballs. Yum.
“Mom is someone coming today or something because that’s a lot of food for two, you know or are you in your period again.'' I asked, like man I know I’m fat and all but like I don’t eat that much.
“Honey no I just thought that the left overs would be good so you don’t have to cook tomorrow.” Ok that was weird my mom never, never calls me honey, second of all, she never makes extra because she doesn’t like left over food, something with food not fresh is not good or some shit, whatever.
“Mom I know when you are lying, I came out of you for a reason, now tell me what’s going on. "I said, knowing something was going on. "Blue, the letter from The First Pavlov State Medical University came today”
I just look at her with an exited but also scared look and ask her “And what did they say.” She just look at me in the eye and told me with a very sad look. "Baby you got accepted, you are going to Russia and you are going to leave me”
And then she started crying.
I just stood there looking like a fish out of the water with my mouth opening and closing until I realized what she said and started screaming and doing my “cool” winning dance. Imaging a woman crying her eyes out and a girl looking like she just won a lottery ticket looking like a octopus dancing. Normal right.
“Mom don’t be sad I going to be with dad and I’m going to call you every day” Something you may not know is that my parents are on a “break”, for the past five years. My dad lives in Russia and I live with my mom here in the States.
They never wanted to admit that their relationship would never work again so they don’t want to get divorced which I think is really stupid but you know I’m just the child. I went over to my mom who was now on the floor crying and told her that everything was going to be ok and that she will see me in the breaks.
“But I’m not going to see you everyday, and who is going to cook my food, and who I’m going to irritate and scream when I feel mad, and who I’m going to boss around now.” Great mom, way to screw the moment. I just look at her and kiss her in the head.
“Mom go to sleep.” I told her. I know she would let me go because she knows this is my dream and not matter how crazy she is and controlling she would always support me.
