Chapter 1
I quickly hit the brake but to no avail. It still didn't work. I ended up hitting the girl. I was so confused as at that time. But I managed to put my self together and hopped out of the car. I couldn't get what is going on in the environment, but I know the people are all worried about the girl I hit. Finally I settled her down in the car and zoomed off to the hospital.
Immediately after our arrival she was taken to the emergency room and was being operated on.
I couldn't help but think about her, later on I started praying to the Almighty Allah that she gets better soon but not later.
I started thinking about home, I know my mom is growing tired of waiting for me, I should have been home at this time even before this time, but here I am waiting for eternity just because of my mistake.
I reached out for my phone and dialled down my mom's digit. After like ringing for forever she finally answered
"Where are you son, you know I've been worried sick about you" was the first thing she said, but before she continued I spoke
"Mom I'm in the hospital" I replied
"Oh Allah na please tell me you're ok son, you're not hurt in any way are you? oh talk to me mana son" she said.
I manage to behave my self before I broke the silence.
"no mom I'm ok, but I don't think the girl is, i drove right through her. I mean it's almost 2hrs but the doctor is still on her..."
"Ok boy just calm down text me your location" mom said before I could even explain how the accident happened.
I cut the call and poured the address.
In less than an hour, she arrived at the hospital. She asked how it happened
"I don't know how it happened, i was driving but I don't know where my mind went off to until I heard people shouting slow down, but before I knew it I banged her down" I explained to my mom with a sad face because i'm about crying😢
Finally the operation was a success, I felt relieved knowing she's gonna be ok. He asked me to follow him to his office because of a serious issue.
"I'm Dr. Mustapha, are you her husband " he asked.
I was so confused as in that time because I didn't know what to say... He asked again and I quickly answered with a yes.
O. M. G what has gotten into me, I screamed in my head...
"Well you are lucky sir, we were able to save your wife but as for the baby I'm sorry to say but it was a chance of 50/50 , either we save the child or the mother. We decided to save the mother because Insha Allah I know she'll be able to conceive again" the doctor said smiling ☺.
