Prologue
“Twice I would die for a little more once with you.” - Atticus
I stroll down the alley avoiding unwanted contact with the world around me. I’m already late and I know exactly how impatient my little Winona can be, especially on such occasions. Today is our wedding anniversary and if it weren’t for some futile conference, I would be spending time with my entrancing wife right now. I hurry past two chuckling lovers that laugh at some joke known solely by them and enter a small flower shop. I buy her favorite flowers and resume my stroll.
It’s raining. The tepid droplets kiss my skin here and there. I can already picture her pristine smile at the sight of rain. It had always amazed me how something so simple as the fall of water on the ground could make her so genuinely happy. Sometimes I’m jealous of the rain that falls upon her skin...
I finally reach the old massive gate planted between us. I open it leisurely and make my way to her.
