"I really enjoyed Robert’s character. The storyline was original, the writing style light and entertaining. I liked all the little footnotes though it’s a shame you have to wait until the end of the chapter to read them. I did find the villains were a tad cliché and their dialogue always seemed rushed and forced (ie falling into the trap of explaining your evil plans to the protagonists). I would never have guessed reading this that this was an amateur’s first novel. I’m really looking forward to the next one! I hope that the next book will include more backstory to the Olossa and the rules and methods of their magic. I hope Robert’s power will also become useful again. "
