a river of drool dampens the boys shirt

the tapping of a pen grinds on my nerves

the drone of voices with useless news

as another pink slip is handed out

for what?

how should i know, the prison guards always look for a reason

paper to pen

once a salvation

now only brings dread with the summon of bubbles and number two pencils

hallways coated in false cheer

as we mill about like cattle to slaughter

predict your future

when your only a child

bind it with stone and steel

and crush the hopes of change

with a steel schedule

cut the budget

kill the arts

stem is where its at

science and math are all that its worth

yet art its worth the heart
