Dirt
Gerald stumbled to the cliffs, and sank to his knees. Blood mixed with the tears streaking the dust coating his face, and he tasted the saltiness on his lips. Smoke rose from various parts of his body, and flame crackled on flesh. He mentally noted the similarities between it,an the scent of frying bacon.He couldn't stand, it, the hunger was too great. Bringing his left hand to his right arm, he dug the bleeding, broken, and missing fingers into his arm. Ripping away with a spay of blood, he examined his prize. Twisting and turning it to and fro,he stared at the dark oozing mass of meat. Satisfied, he stuffed it into his mouth and swallowed without chewing. Feverishly, he began to chant.
" And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see. "
Gerald's voice rose in his ecstacy, and somewhere above, he heard the last trace of sanity whisper away.
" And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer. "
Gerald's eyes rolled into his skull, and the weight of time pressed upon him as he resumed his feast.
