You creased your eyebrows as your eyes bounced back and forth from the modern wall clock and the wooden door. Where was your husband? You huffed a sigh as you made your way to the fridge in the kitchen and grabbed yourself some nice, cold sake. Your legs carried you to the decorated living room, which had colorful streamers tangling themselves from the creamy ceiling. Near the shoe rack, there were two helium-filled balloons each written with something sweet. The small coffee table held the most prized and beautiful decoration of all, a cake shaped in the silhouette of a man holding an umbrella. Frosting rain food colored into rainbow droplets, the man’s silhouette with a pleasant smile and happy tears escaping his closed eyes. This cake symbolized the situation of meeting Reiji. Him finally gaining the courage of breaking up with his ex and you losing your faith in everything in this world. Next to the cake was a photo collage of the numerous pictures you took on your first official date with him.
7:30 PM
You threw your phone back onto the couch as you took another long gulp of sake, your mind began wondering where he was, did anything bad happen? What if his car crashed on the way home and the police are trying to locate where you are! WHAT IF---
No! You calmed yourself down as you took in a deep breath. “No bad thoughts, no overthinking.” You whispered to yourself as you sat down onto the couch reaching towards your mobile phone to double check if there was any text from Reiji.
9:55 PM
You to set the cake into the kitchen and covering it with a plastic box so the sweetness wouldn’t attract any insects. Boredly you groaned and decided to take a shower then snuggle into one of Reiji’s oversized hoodies.
10:00 PM
FUCK! You screeched as the screen popped up with an amputated woman, missing a leg but still managed to chase the eight-year-old girl in the scene. The woman was also missing an eyeball and half her face was rotting, maggots eating her skin off. Her teeth, black and even missing a few, her white nightgown had literal glumps of dirt decorating it as if she crawled out from a grave with a splash of blood stains.
10:45 PM
You yawned simultaneously stretching your body, as you made yourself a cup of hot coffee to keep yourself awake.
11:05 PM
...Your snores filled the room, as you seemed to be sprawled across the soft couch. A photocard pressed against your chest.

Bzzz...Bzzz... There was a loud ping, as your phone vibrated two times before it silenced.
12:00 PM
Midnight. It. Was. Midnight.
Reiji carried your limp body effortlessly towards your shared room, he gently laid your body down onto the oh so cozy bed. He loosened his tie as he bent down to kiss your forehead, grinning at the picture in your hand. He pulled the blanket up to your chin, then left to freshen up.
The bed dipped down at the weight of Reiji as he coiled his arms around you, pulling you towards his chest. Reiji leaned over to set the photo onto the bedside table then retreated backward, admiring your angelic features. “Thank you... For all of this... But you’re all I need.” He gave you one last kiss on the forehead before drifting off to dreamland.
“I love you ♥.”
