PART 1: THE BASICS
1. What is your full name - Nicole Svanhild Eiriksdottir.
2. When and where were you born - I’m not going to bother getting into the complex ages from where I live, but I was born on the sixth day of the month of Einmanudur (Means One-Month, modern month of April) in the year 1994 in Alfheim, making me 23 on Midgard.
3. Who are/were your parents - My mother is Freyja Astride Sveltsdottir, and my father was Eirik Loven Odenson. My mother was the queen before she fell ill, and my father was king before he died. My mother is a very kind, loving person, and my father was more stern, but still managed to be soft if he warmed up to you.
4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like -
Vidarr Jarl Eirikson - He is the reigning king, along with his wife Frea Gudrun Sifsdottir. They have two children, named Idunn Saga Vidarrsdottir and Orvar Alvis Vidarrson. Vidarr is a very serious man. He cares for myself and my other siblings, but he always seems to put kingly duties before his family. Kind of irritating, if I’m being honest with you.
Sigyn Freya Eiriksdottir - Sigyn is the second oldest in the family. She is a very sweet person, just like our bother, which is why it makes sense that she was named after my mother.
I am the third born child. Just for reference.
Marita Siv Eiriksdottir - Marita is my younger sister. She’s a stubborn little thing, as she is quite a few years younger than the rest of us. She’s adorable though. Though she be little, she be fierce.
Svante Thorstein Eirikson - Svante died when he was born, so I never really got to know him.
5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people - I still live at home in the palace in Alfheim with Vidarr, Frea, Marita, and our mother. Sigyn moved out into a home in the city when she turned 20 and I was still 16. Vidarr and Frea are obviously very busy, and Marita is often playing with Idunn and Orvar. That leaves me to care for Mother on occasion, but most often I am free to do what I please. Alfheim is a lovely place, filled with the lovely Alven people. We are a very reserved people, so we mainly keep to our own realm, unless we must leave for business or something similar.
6. What is your occupation - Princess, I suppose. I’m also training to be a warrior, but I guess that princess takes precedence.
7. Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks - I am about 5′6. I have a relatively average build and I weigh about 123 pounds. As I mentioned before, I am from Alfheim, which makes me of the Alven people. I have brown, shoulder-length, wavy hair and green eyes. I have a light olive complexion, much like my older sister. My most prominent feature is my eyes, thanks to their color. My ears are slightly pointed, thanks to my half Aesir-half Alven heritage. I have a relatively small bust, which I am not complaining about. My day to day outfits often consists of a short dress - contrary to the typical dress here in Alfheim - along with knee-high leather boots and some fingerless gloves. I also have a set of armor if an attack ever were to take place, or if I’m training. I don’t have any tattoos, but I do have a scar on my collarbone from a training accident involving Vidarr and a sword.
8. To which social class do you belong - I belong to the upper class here in Alfheim, as I am royalty.
9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses - My anxiety could be considered a physical weakness, as well as a mental illness, since it cripples me both physically and mentally.
10. Are you right or left-handed - I am capable of using my left hand, but I am stronger with my right.
11. What does your voice sound like - Not sure to be completely honest. I know that it isn’t too high-pitched, but it isn’t too low either. So... somewhere in the middle?
12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently - I don’t believe I have a frequent phrase. My siblings might beg to differ, though.
13. What do you have in your pockets - Some spare change that I bring with me everywhere. My dagger is on my side in its sheath, but I don’t suppose that counts as a “pocket”, per say.
14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, strange habits, or other defining characteristics - My siblings would say that my defining characteristic is that I’m obnoxious. I believe that one of my mannerisms is that I tend to crack my knuckles. Midgardians say that it can lead to arthritis, but I seem fine, so...
PART 2: GROWING UP
15. How would you describe your childhood in general - Very privileged. I grew up in the palace, so I had everything I could ever want or need in the palm of my hand. It was lovely.
16. What is your earliest memory - Travelling to Asgard for the first time. While my parents visited with King Joven, my siblings and I played with their children, along with the children of the other nobles there.
17. How much schooling have you had - Oh, enough! I’m glad to be done with school. I was taught by a private tutor from the age of 4 to the age of 18. I finally finished and vowed never to go back.
18. Did you enjoy school - I thought that my last answer made that clear, but in case it wasn’t, no. I despised school.
19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities - I learned my writing skills and mathematics and things like this from my tutor, but when it comes to other skills - fighting, sewing, horseback riding, and things like this - I learned this from my parents and older siblings.
20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them - Well, my older sister Sigyn was always a role model. She always kept her head on her shoulders and was always able to make clear decisions. I strive to be like her, but I doubt I ever will. Also, King Joven of Asgard is a role model. He always seemed so wise.
21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family - Well, I believe that siblings rivalry is a thing in every family. What else is to be expected? Besides the petty arguments, my brother and sisters and I loved each. I was very close to my parents, but more so to my father than to my mother.
22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up - A warrior in the Asgardian army! That dream is still alive to this day.
23. As a child, what were your favourite activities - Horseback riding and training with my father. I particularly love archery.
24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display - Stubbornness. Rebelliousness. Fun for me. Not so much for my parents.
25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like - I believe that I was mostly popular because I was a princess. I made some friends within the village, but I remained very close to many of my royal friends as I grew up.
26. When and with whom was your first kiss - My first kiss was with a boy at a masquerade gala that my family held. He seemed familiar, but I didn’t know why. Maybe it was his eyes. Emerald green.
27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity - Yes, I am a virgin. Don’t plan on giving that up for a while.
28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. PART 3: PAST INFLUENCES
29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far - I would have to say the day that my father died. Morbid, I know, but it was my first real chance to fight in a battle. It was incredible because the Asgardian army - lead by Prince Gunrir - arrived to help us combat the Navik people of Jotunheim. It was a sad day, but it pushed me even further towards my goal of becoming a warrior.
30. Who has had the most influence on you - My father. Simple as that.
31. What do you consider your greatest achievement - Getting to train with the male warriors of our army. In my culture, women training alongside men - or women even being a warrior - is essentially unheard of. It is still thought that women should stay at home and raise their children. I was the one who broke that stereotype. I know it causes my mother some stress, but she can do nothing to stop me.
32. What is your greatest regret - Not being by my father’s side on the day that he died. If I was there, he might still be here today.
33. What is the evilest thing you have ever done - Evil is not typically in my nature, but I have played a prank or two on Marita. Once, I stole her hairbrush. Doesn’t seem harmful, but she looked like a lion for two days straight.
34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind? - Nope.
35. When was the time that you were the most frightened - When they told me that my mother was dying. I didn’t know how I would be able to cope without my mother and my father.
36. What is the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you - My ceremonial dress ripped in the middle of my brother’s coronation. I nearly threw up, I was so embarrassed.
37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why - Bring my father back. I miss him so.
38. What is your best memory - Holding Marita for the first time when she was born.
39. What is your worst memory - Three things: Learning that Svelte had died. Learning that my father had died. Learning that my mother had fallen ill.
PART 4: BELIEFS AND OPINIONS
40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic - Typically, I am an optimist.
41. What is your greatest fear - Losing everyone I love and having no power to prevent it.
42. What are your religious views - Unlike the rest of the realm, I am not a religious person. The Alven people hold beings like Odin, Thor, and Loki as gods and worship them. I, on the other hand, simply view them as men in power.
43. What are your political views - Well. I’m a member of a monarchy, so I believe that a monarchy is an easier way to work things over the...elections they hold on Midgard. Bizarre concept.
44. What are your views on sex - It is meant for married men and women, and it is a time for them to be together. I’m not too anxious to engage in it yet though.
45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable - I am able to kill since I am a warrior of Alfheim, but that does not make it easy. Killing is somewhat acceptable when the enemy is indeed in the wrong and is making an attempt to end the lives of my people and those who love. On the other hand, killing is unacceptable in scenarios like an execution for no apparent reason.
46. In your opinion, what is the evilest thing a human being could do - Mass genocide for selfish reasons.
47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love - I believe that there is someone out there for everyone, so I do believe in true love. Whether there is one specific person designated for everyone is up for debate for me.
48. What do you believe makes a successful life - Loving family, loving friends, good home, good food.
49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way) - I tend to hide important things from my family. I am always comfortable with taking my issues to my sister Sigyn. I would talk to Marita, but she is too young to understand many things that I deal with.
50. Do you have any biases or prejudices - Not in particular.
51. Is there anything you refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it - Arranged marriages. Absolutely not. I have seen royal and noble couples in arranged marriages, and although they seemed to make it work, I have heard them arguing behind closed doors before. It isn’t an ideal situation, and I would never want to be involved in it myself.
52. Who, or what, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for) - Any member of my family, as well as my best friend - Hanne. I would go to extremes for the people of Alfheim, defending them as best I can, but I wouldn’t necessarily willingly die for them.
PART 5: RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS
53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how - I try to treat others politely, but if they are rude to me, it is in my nature to be rude back. My treatment of them does change depending on how well I know them, simply because I am able to determine what kind of person they are and if they are worthy of my time or not.
54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why - It used to be my father, but since he is dead, it is now Sigyn and Hanne. Sigyn because I can take any issue to her and I know she will help me. Hanne because she is a listening ear and I feel like she knows me better than all others.
55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why - I respect my mother the most. She had to put up with raising four rowdy children, losing her baby and her husband within a year of each other. She is a strong woman. I aspire to be as strong as her one day.
56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people - Well, I have many friends, but Hanne Elinsdottir - my handmaiden - is my best friend, without a doubt. You wouldn’t think that a princess and her servant would get along so well, but we have a different relationship. She knows me so well and has supported me through so much that it’s impossible for her not to be my best friend.
57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person - No, I have yet to be married or begin courting someone. I haven’t completely written it off, though. I wouldn’t mind settling down in a few years time.
58. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened - That night at the masquerade gala that I mentioned earlier was when I knew I’d fallen in love for the first time. With the man in the mask with the emerald eyes. I did develop a small “crush”, as Midgardians call it, but never pursued it, for I could never again place those eyes to any person I had ever met.
59. What do you look for in a potential lover - Well, he has to love me, which I was I refuse an arranged marriage. Love does develop there eventually, as in the case of my parents, but sometimes it doesn’t, and that is such a sad existence. He has to be kind, generous, humble, caring. All the good things that any person would look for in a friend or lover.
60. How close are you to your family - I am very close to all of my brothers and sisters, as well as my sister-in-law. I was very close to my father before he died. I have a decent relationship with my mother, as I am often caring for her. Otherwise, though, we tended to argue a lot as I grew up, and I feel that those wounds have yet to heal.
61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not - I have yet to start my own family, but I would like to eventually. I have always loved children and caring for them, and I think that getting to do so with my husband by my side will be amazing. The idea of pregnancy and childbirth is slightly off-putting, though, but I’m sure I could get past that if I focused on the blessing to come.
62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help - Either one of my older siblings - Vidarr or Sigyn - or Hanne.
63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why - I can protect myself, thank you very much. But if I were in a position where I could not protect myself, I would trust Vidarr - my brother and king - to protect me and the rest of Alfheim.
64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you - My siblings, of course. Vidarr would cry. Sigyn would cry. Marita would cry buckets and buckets. She’s the one that I worry about the most. I would like to think Mother would miss me, but she must have too much on his mind anyway.
65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why - I hate Asvaldr - king of the Navik people - with a passion, because he is the one who led them into the battle that killed my father.
66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict - Oh, I’ll argue with someone if they look at me wrong.
67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations - In a major social situation, my brother Vidarr is typically present. As he is the king of Alfheim, I must allow him to take the lead.
68. Do you like interacting with others? Why or why not - I love to interact with people. Typically, royals aren’t out in the streets associating with their people, which I do not understand. So, I will walk the streets of Alfheim, chatting with the villagers and visiting the market. I’ll occasionally play ball with the children if I have time.
69. Do you care what others think of you - Not particularly. I just know that if Vidarr hears about it, he’ll deal with it.
PART 6: LIKES AND DISLIKES
70. What is/are your favourite hobbies and pastimes - I enjoy horseback riding as well as archery. If I have time, I will take up a book or two.
71. What is your most treasured possession - The sword that my father had custom made for me. Or the necklace that used to be my grandmother’s. I never take it off.
72. What is your favourite colour - Ooh, emerald green, of course. Or blue. Can’t pick.
73. What is your favourite food - My mother has a homemade beef stew that I absolutely love.
74. What, if anything, do you like to read - Midgardian tales often interest me. Their mystery books are fantastic. Also, a good romance novel if I’m in a good mood.
75. What is your idea of good entertainment - I love plays. I am constantly at the theatre here in Alfheim, and that is the one reason why I am incredibly jealous of people living on Earth - they have such brilliant plays! The creative humans are indeed fascinating. Shakespeare was a very intelligent man. Coriolanus was my favourite play of his to read.
76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit - I don’t smoke, I don’t drink (excessively) and I don’t do drugs. If these things damage your body to give you only a moment of pleasure, what’s the point?
77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night - Reading. Drawing. Stargazing. One of those three.
78. What makes you laugh - My sister Marita. She has quite the comedic calling.
79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you - The few people that despise other races and wish to obliterate them for no good reason. If someone has their reasons for hating, say, the Naviks, then I give them credit. I hate the Frost Giants, but for good reason! If the hate is pointless, though, it disgusts me.
80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself - Have a conversation with Marita! As I mentioned, she is capable of entertaining me very easily.
81. How do you deal with stress - I believe I mentioned that I have anxiety earlier, so stress is incredibly difficult to deal with. I do have my coping methods for my anxiety, but if they don’t work, I remove myself from the scenario and retreat to my room until I can calm down.
82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan - Vidarr would like me to always have a plan, but I tend to act on a thought immediately.
83. What are your pet peeves - Do my siblings count? Yes, I am a full grown woman, but my siblings still drive me up the wall on occasion.
PART 7: SELF IMAGES AND ETC.
84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted - Wake up, eat breakfast, train, relax, perform royal duties, eat dinner, sleep. Not a busy day. If it is disrupted, it means that something really good or really bad is happening. Exciting, right?
85. What is your greatest strength as a person - My battle skills and my battle planning abilities.
86. What is your greatest weakness - My anxiety and my stubbornness.
87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be - Remove my anxiety. Life would be so much simpler without it.
88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted - I try to seem extroverted, but I am an introvert at heart.
89. Are you generally organized or messy - Messy all the time. My mother hates it.
90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at - I’m good at fighting, archery, and horseback riding. I’m bad at public speaking, coping with my anxiety and controlling my temper.
91. Do you like yourself - I do, indeed.
92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public - My adventurous tendencies are helping me work towards my goal of becoming a warrior of Asgard, but this differs from what I tell people. I explain to the public that I am the way I am simply because of my father’s influence. If they knew the real reasons, Vidarr would ground me for life because he would find out incredibly quickly.
93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime - Join the Asgardian royal army.
94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years - Hopefully living in a small home in Asgard with a family, working for the royal family in their guard.
95. If you could choose, how would you want to die - Fighting for the royal family of Asgard.
96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left - Be with my family and say my goodbyes, say my goodbyes to my friend, and take one last tour around the realm of my birth.
97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered for after your death - Being one of the only female warriors of Asgard.
98. What three words best describe your personality - Stubborn. Determined. Kind.
99. What three words would others probably use to describe you - Stubborn. Rebellious. Annoying.
100. If you could, what advice would you, the author, give to your character. (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice) - Nicole, this is serious. As a person who knows you incredibly well, for reasons you need not know, you must be cautious. There are forces on the horizon that will endanger the lives of everyone you love and everything you know. You must be determined to defend, but also determined to live. Be the stubborn, rebellious and kind woman you know you are because it might just help save your life.
