He had something
many described as a charred mess of a mind. His black eyes leaked his dark
thoughts, dripping messily down his cheeks, dripping onto his green scarf, into his black coffee, overflowing his appearance with tears. Dirt settled on his cheeks like glue, smooth pathways washing clear as the tears continued to flow, and He, yes someone only called by He, continued sipping on his coffee, which kept steadily growing saltier as He cried.
Burnt cigarette buds littered the floor, blood smeared across the gray concrete walls. He’s, it seemed, as his knuckles were hardened and crusty with a mix of black and maroon, light pink scratches covering the rest of his pale hand. His body shook as he let out a heaving cough, his salty coffee spilling onto his already stained pants, as he heaved and coughed, and after a bit of that, rested his head on the tile floor to think and rest.
Maybe He could rest now. Just for a bit... Just for a little while, He could be one with peace, and finally, finally sleep. The tired bags under his eyes, almost as dark as his pupils themselves, didn’t beg to differ. They merely helped envelop his mind in fog, and let his consiousness steadily drip away...
...
Oh...?
The sweet sickness in his mouth seemed to overflow and he found himself choking, spitting out rancid colors, saliva dripping down his chin as he sat. In that moment, the shadows beneath his eyes grew, the whispy black hands of fear going to strangle his neck in peaceful agony. The trees whispered their taunts and the wind began roaring and the static, like wasps in his brain, grew until all he wanted to do was sleep.
And then his eyes flew open, gasping, grasping at nothing, and He just let the static pass, and his mind awaken.
Oh.
He had to almost think He’d never been awake, merely there were times when his eyes were open, and times when they were not. His brain felt like a heavy, useless piece of meat weighing him down. It took all He had not to chop straight through his skull and rip it out. It would probably taste as salty as his tears... Would a brain taste good?
He’d lay there, thinking and wondering about useless things like that, and desperately trying to not commit cannibalism, until He heard a knock. It wasn’t a sound alike the wind or trees or static or choking, but a knock.
And then the door opened. A door? There had been a door there? He’s mind cluttered with confusion, and a strangled gasp escaped his lips as it swung open and He was hit head on with a light, fluffy... towel?
“Hey, take a shower dude. We have a job to do.”
Apologizes for how slow it’s going currently, and the short first chapter! I expect to update this very soon. Hope it’s alright so far^^;;
