Chapter 1

“Why?! I’m sick of this; I’m sick and tired of you. All I ever wanted is a normal life, but you couldn’t give me that ever since I transferred here 3 years ago. I needed a new start, yet here I am being a current victim of bullying.” Emlyn yelled and stomped at the tile ground.

“News flash there isn’t such thing as normal, freakish alien.” Ash spat with his eyebrows crunched near each other and his nose wrinkled.

As the absolutely lovely couple argued, they drew a large crowd in the middle of the hallway. Eventually, Mrs. Math intervened, hoping it would go smoother than she thinks it will go.

“Alright, you two. we’ve had enough of this spat. Let’s just make this quick and apologize to each other. They don’t need to be sincere.” Mrs. Math sighed as she pinched the top of her nose’s bridge.

“We? I don’t see any one else trying to stop the argument. In fact, I see the other teachers and our principal watching while eating popcorn,” Ash pointed out as he gestured his hand toward the crowd.

Emlyn’s glare softened and she adds, “Ya know he’s right for once in his life.” Ash turns his face towards Emlyn and raises his brown left eyebrow..

Emlyn’s glare re-hardens, and this time with ice. Anyone could see the ice and hatred in Emlyn’s glare.

“What were you arguing about anyway that was more important to wait til lunch?” Mrs. Math questioned.

“Not your business.” Emlyn spat.

“It’s business if you disrupted teachers not to mention the principal, Emlyn.” Mrs. Math retorted.

“No, it’s not. Just like how I can hear you yelling at your husband over the phone down the call not only distracting classes, but disrupting ours as well.” Emlyn roared.

Mrs. Math’s eyes and jaw widens.

“My personal life is none of your business.” Mrs. Math spat as a fire ignited in her eyes.

“My life isn’t your business either, so stick your nose back out of it, and don’t you dare even think about touching me. Remember there’s a crowd with the principal in it, not to mention security cameras." Emlyn snapped.

Mrs. Math took a step closer to Emlyn and Ash and slapped Emlyn. Slowly, a red mark appears where Emlyn was touched. Emlyn brings a hand to cheek where she was injured, and Emlyn’s glare turns from freezing cold ice to a blaring fire.

“Mrs. Math, you’re fired for intentionally bringing harm onto a student.” The principal’s voice boomed with anger.

Mrs. Math’s glare softens at the principal’s voice, and was relieved about being fired. She hates the other teachers, the students, and the district. Mrs. Math has been freed from the school’s chambers, but possibly not jail.

Emlyn crosses her arms in front of her chest protectively. Emlyn spits out, “You officially can’t do anything to me, not like you could before. While you’re at needing help, why don’t you actually go get the help you need.”

Emlyn starts to feel light headed, and her head hurts more evidently; her vision blurs and spins. Her head spins as if she’s dizzy. Next thing they know, Emlyn drops unconscious to the hard, cold tile black floor.

“Fake bitch,” Mrs. Math huffs out as she kicks Emlyn, but there’s no response from Emlyn.

The crowd gets closer to Emlyn to get a better look.

As Ash’s heart rate quickens, his breath hitches. When his shock wears off, he grabs his phone out of his short’s pocket quickly, almost dropping it. He immediately calls 911.

While that went on, the air felt colder and thicker.

“You’re a witch, and put the same spell on Emlyn as did Maleficent on Sleeping Beauty!” A random student accused Mrs. Math.

“I don’t have any magic, imbecile.” Mrs. Math responded.

“Quick! Ash, kiss Emlyn stat!” Another student yelled out.

Soon enough, the sirens of the ambulance and the police were to be heard as they pulled into the parking lot and in front of the school’s doors. The paramedics and police walked through the glass double doors. Instantly, they felt the tension and temperature.

“Miss, are you responsible for what happened?” A police man in a black uniform asked Mrs. Math while the paramedics were working on Emlyn.

Mrs. Math’s glare gradually fades away at the sight of the police officers. She shakes her head.

“Liar!” A few students called out.

“Miss, tell me the truth. Are you the reason the young girl is unconscious?” The other police officer asked who was in a white version of the uniforms.

Mean while, Ash was trembling with fear. Chills had taken over his body. He had tiny goose bumps filling his arms and legs. His body hair was sticking up. Ash’s teeth was also chattering. He tried to collect and organize his thoughts by passing back and forth, hands at both sides of his head.

“Please don’t be dead. What have I done... This is all my fault... Is Emlyn going to be okay? I’m such a horrible person; I shouldn’t have tortured Emlyn. Theater isn’t gonna be the same.” Those thoughts had ran through Ash’s mind.

Once the paramedics were done making sure Emlyn was okay and stable, they had lifted her into the back of the ambulance and drove to the hospital. A few hours has passed, Emlyn wakes to her mom, Mia, her mom’s friend, your uncle, and aunt staring at her.

Emlyn looked back at her mom with confusion, hand covering her chin.

“Mom, why am I here?” Emlyn asked her mom.

“You had passed out at school. They said it was because of stress.” Emlyn’s mom clarified.

Emlyn rolls her eyes, then glance at Mia, Emlyn’s friend. Emlyn’s mom walk towards you and lays a comforting hand on one of Emlyn’s.

“Emlyn, I need to tell you something...” Emlyn’s mom let out.

A/n: What do you think the something is? What do you think Emlyn’s teminal illness is? Will she is Mrs. Math again? What’s in store for Emlyn’s near future? What are they going to do about Emlyn’s stress? Please feel free to comment, like, share, rate, and help me on my journey to become a better writer.
