‘Oh no.. There he is, standing there as if he’s waiting for someone... He probably is. I know he is. I just hope it’s me he’s waiting for. Crap! What do I say? How do I respond to someone as unpredictable as this handsome angel before me..? Okay, calm down.. Just walk up and say hello like a normal person. Okay, you’ve got this. You’re a demon! You can do anything!’

He walked up behind the man of his dreams chuckling softly as he saw that what he wasn’t actually waiting for anything, but more that he was standing towards the river eating a hard tack and sipping a small beer. “Catch the plague yet?” Crowley asked, gently nudging the mans shoulder, who perked up at his words making an unamused face. “Noooo, why even ask such a silly question luv, you’d think that if this had gone all to pot you would know by now wouldn’t you?” He scoffed and turned the other way finishing his snack, Crowley rolled his eyes, “Moody aren’t we? Were you really on that boat or did you just, pop bye, to get something from the bows of that wooden death trap?” He asked making wide hand gestures to a boat in the other direction gently rested on the shore or the town.

“Don’t give me a bollocking fowl demon I’ve had bugger all to do today while you relax out here doing what?”

“Well.. Waiting for you angel, why else would I pick such a nasty place to rest? I mean really I should have bought a thicker coat, it’s brass monkeys outside I’m surprised it’s not snowing”

“You were waiting for me? Oh you can’t be serious, I’m not doing anything worth waiting for, I haven’t actually seen you in this part of the world since.. Well... nearly six hundred years ago, there must be something else you’re here for.”

“I don’t go over here anymore it’s full of grockels these days. Nasty people they are, but you did happen to land here so I might have flown over to.. yknow, see, what you’re up to. Let’s just get a pint and chat yeah? I’m sure the pub has better food then tacks and watered down ale. Don’t worry angel, I’ll buy~” Of course Aziraphale perked up at the words ‘food’ and ‘Ill buy’ he tilted his head to the side making a conflicted, stubborn, face that told Crowley that he would be reluctantly following him wherever the male wanted him to go, was it really just that easy? Yes. Yes it was. “Fine.. But only because I was heading there anyway...”

“That’s a load of tosh and we both know it~” The demon said with a smirk, wrapping his arm around Aziraphale’s and walking him into the new pub and ordering a round for the two, along with a meat pie that was being served, “Older food is quite scrummy” Aziraphale said with a soft smile, Crowley couldn’t help but smile along as he saw the mans expression, “You like it that much? It looks dreadful though awfully minging..” He stated making a confused face, in Crowley’s opinion the older the food the worse it tasted, but that was just him. “Well angel, if you like it so much perhaps I could skive a few before we head out?”

Aziraphale shook his head, “Oh no, no no no, I’m not letting you do that for me again I felt bad enough the first three times.” Crowley only chuckled in response, taking a large swig of his drink, by the looks of it his angel had already had a few shitty brews, he decided not to comment on it thought. “You said you flew over a bit ago didn’t you? Where’d you come in from?”

“Me? Well I was just passing though Loudun, the court was taking the piss at this Urbain guy, quite fun to watch actually I wonder if he’s still there.. Never mind all that you wouldn’t wanna see it. There’s really not much going on. I did come by a nice cabin though that I plan to make my house for a good while, if you’d like to see it?”

“First drinks then to your house eh? Are you sure there’s no malicious intent in any of this?” Crowley stuck his tongue out, “Oh come off it angel can’t a guy feel proper chuffed for finding such a nice place and want to show off to the only one sensible enough to follow said dude into the woods?” Aziraphale just rolled his eyes and smiled, “Alright, you’ve won me over luv. When were done here well head out and see this new place you’ve found.” He reached over casually placing one of Crowleys hands, “Thanks for the drink, and snack. Those tacks were quite dreadful..” He said with a light blush.

Soon enough the two headed out into the woods and back to what Crowley was looking to call home. Not for long, just a couple hundred years, maybe haunt it a bit and make the towns people scared. All in good fun of course. Once they were inside they’d sat down on a wooden couch, it had little padding so Crowley had covered it with quite a few blankets for them. It was nice, he could see himself and his angel here every night.. But he knew that wasn’t going to happen. Not for him. Maybe in another life.. And that’s all he hoped for.

BlackKat07: Loved the characters and plot. Unfortunately after about chapter 10 the book really needs a good proof-read - lots of spelling and grammatical errors that spoiled it for me.
