Where Titans Once Walked

Light shines through a warped pane.

Illuminates the black filth which thrives

behind decayed mahogany walls. The Gilded

moldings have faded; only pallid swirls

remain. The ruby carpet

has rotted into dust piled on the stairway.

Where a family of mice scuttle out their lives.

Communes of termites tunnel

throughout those decayed mahogany walls.

A reclusive spider spins it’s web,

All weaving a future in the ruins they cannot comprehend
