Chapter 1
It's noon and I'm sitting on the brown bench on the deck in the backyard of my mother's house. Reading a book ofcourse. My life revolves around books and nothing else. This book After has gotten me addicted , like Tessa's dad , Richard , was addicted to alcohol and heroin. The way that everything seems so real and alive in this book is something new for me. It's captivating for me on a whole new level.
Yeah , you probably think that I'm just another nerd with her nose in a book all the time. Well then you are mistaken here. I'm a girl that loves the latest fashion , I'll die for my books and I've got secrets that someone still needs to unravel and reveal in the open.
But enough of all that shit about my dark secrets that still needs unraveling.
The sun is about to set and the most beautiful orange reddish colour appears on the horizon. It's so soothing to watch , although your mind is running 1 000 miles with you per second. This is why I love to come and sit here on this bench every day. My mother says that I need to stop daydreaming and start to study and make all of this dreaming a reality.
"Camílla!" My mother's voice booms from the kitchen. What does she want me to do this time? Ain't she torturing me enough.
"What's it this time!" I yell back.
"Don't talk to me like that mílla" , My mom says while appearing on the deck , with her strawberry imprinted apron on. "How many times do I need to lecture you on how to talk to grownups darling?"
I'm always ready with a snarky comeback. "Probably a million more times." I smirk.
I can hear my mom cursing under here breath 'shut the fuck up already" if I heard right. "I want you to go and buy me some milk and eggs from Target".
I roll my eyes. "And why in this whole fucked up world would I do that for you?" I rudely ask my mother. I know that I'm irritating the shit out of her and I'm kinda enjoying it more today than all the other times.
"Mílla! Get the fuck up and please go and get me the milk and eggs." My mom yells and I can see that she is on the verge of beating the shit out of me if I don't get the hell up and go now there will once again be a wrestling match on the deck like last time.
"Give the money , but I won't guarantee you getting your change back."
"Take the money on the table and please don't take long. 30 minutes max or I will call the cops on you." She warns.
"And what will you tell them? That I send my own daughter to Target for milk and eggs?" I ask with sarcasm lased in every word I dare to utter at my own mother.
She kinda even don't deserve the title mother in the first place. If I think back on what she has caused last year to happen.
When I finally find a parking spot for my car at Target I sigh and climb out of my car when I hear a very familiar squeal.
When I turn around I see...
