The One That I Picked

Life ain’t perfect, but you already knew that. You thought you had it all: running as the Executive Director of your family’s company, a nice house a good boyfriend by your side, and soon he would be your husband. But even when you have it all, when something is missing, it changes the whole balance.

I just find out that my boyfriend was cheating on me, and to make matters worse, he has a kid! Lucky for me, my family and I are going away on vacation. I have been waiting for this all year!

You spent almost four years with Stephen, before your fairy tale ended. You were so much in love that you didn’t even notice the signs. The family gateway helped a lot, your family kept you sane and work kept you grounded.

After a few days away, you come home and decide to start living your life as a single person, so you could do anything you wanted. You started to feel free, feeling sorry for yourself wasn’t getting you far, so it was time you brought back the colour on your face.

“I want to start using a dating app, should be interesting.” You tell your best friend Sofia, shocking her.

“Are you sure you are ready for this?” She asks, during your weekly lunch.

“More than ever! I’m not just going to sit here and sob because my ex decided to cheat on me with half of the neighbourhood.”

I was so distraught when I found out… I’m glad I had time to recover.

“Okay, just be careful!”

“I sure will. By the way, how are things going with… What’s his name? Jorge!”

“Ugh! Don’t remind me…” She tells you how they tried but things didn’t work out, so they decided to go separate ways.

So, you signed up for the dating app. Good thing about is that you have the option to pick the guy you are interested in talking, and hopefully, he will pick you too; much better than going to a bar and expose yourself like you are for sale! You found some cute ones, and you couldn’t believe these many hotties are this close and you never met them.

After a few days swiping left and right, you matched with a few guys that got your attention, so you had a few dates out of it, but not all of them went pass dinner… until you met Reynold.

Reynold: “Hi there gorgeous!” He texted you through the app.

Hannah: “Hi there!” He couldn’t see, but you were blushing.

Reynold: “Tell me a bit about yourself.”

Hannah: “I’m 28, and I work in management. How about you?”

Reynold: “I’m 37, and I work in construction.”

Hmm… A guy with a hammer, I can already imagine.

Hannah: “That’s good!”

Reynold: “We should meet sometime, what do you say?”

Hannah: “That would be great. Just name the place and time.”

Reynold: “How about tomorrow, 4pm at Rizzolis?”

Hannah: “Sounds good! Can’t wait.”

And just like that, you got yourself a date!
