Stand for a Being
“Stand for a Being”
Written by: Janel Spiegel @butterflyjms
I look past all those words.
I see through the rugged clothing.
I would have marched alongside Dr. King.
Fought some battles and hoped to win.
Sat on a bus with Ms. Parks.
Looked at those left for dead.
The Holocaust, how can you say it did not exist?
Weary, weepy souls disagree.
You cannot have so much faith in me.
Lie, cheat, steal.
Hey, VOTE for me! I will make you a deal!
Sit at my table, drink my champagne.
Dom something, something, it is a fancy type name.
Don’t look at them.
They sit on the streets.
They panhandle, beg, cheat, lie and steal.
Hey wait a minute running mate that is you in that last debate.
Scandal, beg and mercy.
They do not unite.
A world divided is not one we need
A world united, yes please!
Fighting and riots till the clouds of smoke fade
Fighting so fast, hey Mr. Officer you seen my shades?
I am you, you are me.
Together we can certainly “Let it be.”
Belief in fight is not right.
Belief in truth that is what I told you!
Dr. King to the Dalai Lama
May peace prevail one day in this chaos called life?
May we learn love, existence and light.
May we shed the darkness, value life.
Knock over those barricades and hey let’s have a talk.
Peace to all.
