Black Flower
How can one grow in a grove full of trees? The story of the Black Flower is one that brings the strongest to the weakest of knees.
Lasting through hardship, it brought shelter and peace to all who came. Protected those that dwelled under its petals from rain.
When no one would water, it would hope that it fell from the sky. The Black Flower, it seemed, was destined to die.
Through drought and abuse it persists. The Black Flower, its deeds lost and shrouded in the mist.
Nurturing those who would succumb to a similar fate. The Black Flower risked life and limb for mate.
Not accepting the status quo. The Black Flower spread its roots to grow.
Spoke to through shouts and beat with angry fists. Despite all this the Black Flower still exists.
Some say it is just a legend, Black flowers aren’t special, they are flowers, through and through.
After all, one can’t explain the magnificence of a Black Flower when they are the towering yew.
