Sam
Sam Brown is strange. Strange is actually an inaccurate word to describe Sam because Sam is not like other men his age.
At the age of 25, you would expect Sam to have settled down with a beautiful and smart young lady and be planning for cute kidlings but not Sam.
Sam has other things on his mind. Finding his perfect woman. Sam has had trouble finding someone compatible enough for him.
The date always ends with the girl having no interest or him just leaving due to the zero attraction he has with them. Sam is a decent-looking person with tan skin, blonde hair, and dark brown eyes. But it is his brain that is ugly.
Sam is a nerd. Sam is a geek. He talks about true crime religiously and always scares away his dates with his horror fanatics. Sam does not have a specific type although.
He will date anyone that he has a personal attraction with. When he is dating he mostly goes for more exotic women from different countries and such. He almost hit it off with this pretty Asian woman but when he told her about how he writes horror books as a hobby, she ran away from him as fast as she could.
Who would want to date an already creepy man who is obsessed with horror? Do not want him to accidentally murder you after giving in to his intrusive thoughts.
Anywho, dating is out of the question for Sam.
Although Sam’s dating life is a tragic failure, he still finds a way to make life enjoyable for him. He currently works at a library where he meets all sorts of people that he soon becomes friends with.
The crazy people running in and out to take all the new books that they know for a fact they only got to broadcast the fact that they read when really they don’t.
Or the people that actually do spend their free time reading.
Or lastly, (the people Sam despises the most) the people that only buy the books just for them to watch the movie instead and compare the books to the movies.
Idiotic is what Sam thinks it is. Very, very idiotic.
Now that we have Sam’s love life and personal life covered, let’s talk about his issues.
Sam is an ambitious person. He will not let things go and if he says he wants something he will definitely get it.
Sometimes that can not always be a good thing.
One time Sam really wanted his teacher to read him and his class the scary books on the shelf and he begged her day after day.
He did everything he could to make sure he got those books to be read.
The teacher finally gave in and read the books as Sam sat on the carpet with a grin on his face.
That grin was soon wiped off when the school bully beat him to a pulp for the sole reason that he was a geek.
(When in reality, the bully was upset that his crush saw him scared up and cowardly in the corner because he was really scared.)
Sam was always picked on and bullied growing up. Especially because his parents were drunks and he had to fend for himself all the time.
Not a day went by where Sam was not at least shoved into a locker or called a very mean word.
But that is Sam. Broken yet happy. Single yet content. Sane.... yet so so crazy.
“Bye Jack!” Sam yelled over to the chubby man standing in the middle of the library screaming into his phone in german.
The man gave Sam a harsh glance and diverted his focus back to the unfortunate person on the other end of the line.
“Goodbye Sam.” Sam mocked in the man’s German accent. Sam groaned and stepped out of the library.
The cool air bit into his skin like mosquitoes. He sighed in content as the wind danced a rhythm outside.
Sam always had a liking in the cold.
Sam walked towards the bus shelter as he quietly sings a song under his breath. Teddy Bear Picnic.
His mom used to sing that song to him whenever she was not drunk which was rarely but Sam loved that song.
“If you go down in the woods today you’re sure of a big surprise. If you go down in the woods today you’d better go in disguise.” Sam mumbled breathly.
He reached the bus shelter and took a seat in one of the chairs.
“For every bear that ever there was... will gather there for certain because.” Sam continued.
He was about to finish the song when a light and high voice joined in.
“Today’s the day the teddy bears have their picnic.” The mysterious voice finished.
Sam swiftly turned his head around to see a very beautiful girl.
She walked over to him and took a seat next to him.
She had caramel skin and long black braids.
Wow is all that Sam thought to himself.
“I love that song.” She smiled. A very beautiful smile.
Her smile could light up a room. Her smile could turn thunder into sunshine.
Her smile can bring mountains to their knees. Her smile could make even a god’s knees quake.
Yet, that was not even close enough to describe the true beauty that lay right in front of Sam’s eyes.
Her dark caramel skin shined and glowed although the sun was hiding behind the clouds.
Her big brown eyes were twinkling like the shimmery starry nights while stargazing.
And her hair. Her hair was the most satisfyingly pleasing thing Sam has ever seen.
Her hair was in long braids with curls at the end. The woman right in front of Sam’s eyes was no human.
She was a goddess.
And Sam would most definitely love to pray to her.
“Me too,” Sam said. He gulped nervously and instantly felt his face heating up and turning redder than a tomato.
“Teddy Bears Picnic. It is more complex than it sounds.” The mysterious girl added.
Sam’s eyes widened in amusement. Sam loved a girl that thought deeper and harder than others.
Hard like how Sam wanted to fuc-
“Think about. The bears are gathering there to eat, and if they are warning us not to go... that means that the bears are going to eat us because their main appetizer for their picnic is humans.” The goddess said.
Sam was too lost in her eyes to fully comprehend what she said.
“Oh yeah, that makes so much sense! I never thought of it that way.” Sam said when he came back to reality.
“Mind blown huh?” She asked.
“What’s your name?” Sam blurted.
The girl giggled and eyed Sam.
Sam felt weak when he heard her giggles and he ultimately knew that that was his favorite sound ever.
His only goal in life was to make sure this beautiful girl laughed every second of every day.
“Carol Baskin.” She smirked.
She extended her hand to Sam and Sam hesitantly glared at her. Carol Baskin?
Sam has heard of that meme before.
“Oh my gosh! I wish you could’ve seen your face!” The girl chucked.
She playfully hit Sam and Sam grinned loud and proud.
He had made her laugh, again.
“What do you mean?” He asked laughing.
“My name is not Carol Baskin. My name is Aurora Blanchard.” Aurora smiled.
“What is your name, silly?” Aurora asked.
“Sam. Sam Brown,” Sam said.
“Well, Sam Brown, I will see you later,” Aurora said. She stood up and was about to walk away when Sam gently grabbed her wrist.
“Where are you going?” He asked disappointed that he did not have more time with this goddess.
“I was only sitting here so I could wait for the coffee shop line to speed up.” She said.
Sam frowned sadly. He thought that she was catching the same bus as him.
Then maybe he could catch her number.
Sam let go of her wrist and waved at her.
She smiled.
But before Aurora departed she leaned down and placed a kiss on Sam’s cheek.
Sam felt his pants tightening.
“Thank you for keeping me company.” She whispered sweetly.
“No biggy.” Sam smiled.
And just like that, she was gone. And all Sam was left with was a boner, a newfound crush and her delicious smell lingering in the air.
