Chapter 1
The Three
Today was the Day.
The last Day at
the Academy Of Mates.
Ember folded down her bed as her roommate Casity did the same.
"You know you don't have to pick the same faction as me? Ember whispered to her best friend.
Casity smiled as she finished tiding up her side of the room and turned to Ember.
"We will go together, we will be apart of the same species and raise our children together. We lost Rose yesterday, I won't lose you either." A sad tear slid down her cheek as she looked to the nightstand where a photo of three girls sat.
A blonde with bright blue eyes, a beautiful raven haired girl with Brown, and a red head with green gems who was Rose.
Rose wouldn't be going on as they would be, they all turned eighteen yesterday and Rose shifted into a beautiful red fox. Very fitting for her name, but all the same very saddening.
They were created from human males but their mother's were shape shifters. Something happened a long time ago where all species in the world couldn't reproduce, all species besides the shape shifter females.
With the research they conducted they found that we have to be half human in order to be turned into the mated species we pick. In which they also discovered that the human side of us serpresses the shape shifters side making it dormant, making us fertile for a mate in the faction. But there was always that possibility that one in a million chance that one of us females would turn into a shape shifter on our eighteenth birthday.
With that being the case with Rose, she will be headed to a breeding facility. To birth females for the faction, while male's are adopted out into the world to be raised and turned by species that wanted them. "At least the headmistress aloud us to stay in contact with her."

They were outside on their early morning walk, the three of them side by side. Then all of a sudden Rose jerked to a stop.
"I don't feel right all of a sudden guy's." Ember raised her hand to her forehead. "Christ you're burning up Rose!
Casity felt her forehead as well. "We should take you to the infirmary and get you checked out."
Rose nodded her head, she felt awful.
With both girls holding her arm's they turned around and slowly started to head back to the Dorm buildings where the infirmary was located.
Then Rose doubled over screaming, her knees smashing concrete hard.
Ember and Casity panicked with concern as they knelt beside Rose.
"One of us needs to go get someone." Ember gritted out. Neither one of them wanting to leave there friend.
Casity nodded her head and stood to run when the first snapping sound of bone hit her ears.
Both girl's eyes wide in horror as they watched there bestfriend scream in agony as her body shifted into a small sleek red fox.
Rose lay whimpering on the ground, she new what this meant. In a way she new she was this for a long time, but has had no evidence to prove it.
Ember and Casity approached her slowly.
Rose looked up at both her bestfriends and then shifted back to her human form naked as the day she was born.
A few hours later they all were in the head mistresses Office. She was a very nice lady, and completely caught off guard with the news. A few phone calls were placed out and a few hours later a Man and Two Women were sitting across from us on the couches. They tried to make us leave but Rose wouldn't allow it.
The man spoke first as he cleared his throat.
"This is a crazy situation, it hasn't happened before. We understand you have been raised and brought up in the Mate Academy. But you're a valuable asset to the Faction. You will have all the freedom you have now, but you will not go on with your friends. You will be taken to the Breeder Academy and go through classes there before anything is even said or done. We want you to be comfortable and mentally healthy headed into your new life."
Rose teared up for the first time since she changed. "So no family, no mate. I get absolutely nothing out of being a breeder? I create fertile children and the world keeps spinning and those children get to go off and make there own families and be happy."
One of the women who were with the man finally spoke.
"Actually the Breeding program sounds quite scary and Awful, especially to you since you're not a shifter female to be raised and born into it like me."
All three girls startled at her.
"My name Is Jazmin, I am a Panther shape shifter. I am here to help you coup a bit with all that you're about to take on. But before you even leave this Academy Rose, I want you to know that I have birthed fifteen children for the Faction and I ave been retired since. I am mated to another Shape Shifter and we have three beautiful boys together."
Rose was caught off guard. "So you have a limit with how many children you give the faction and then you are free to go on your way?
Jazmin smiled. "Yes Rose, and I can produce children with my mate. Any Breeder female can carry a child to term. But the issue is more conflicting than anything. There's not enough females to share with the world to keep all species including humans from extinction. So the Academy Of Breeders Was Born. The Faction which included Elves, Dragon Born, Werewolves, Vampire's, Humans, and Shifters all agreed to give all species a fighting chance. You should know the story right?

Rose nodded her head. "The already mated female shifters and there female children were forced into the Breeding program at the beginning. But it turned into a blood bath, so they fixed it. Instead of forcing them they asked them to willingly produce three children for the Faction. Those who didn’t want to were let go, and those who wished to save the world stayed and had more than three Offspring. They gave the world eight."
Jazmin nodded her head. "Yes, it was a very Bloody beginning. The shifters in this world could have left all the species out, because we were the only female species to produce children, but if we would have done that-
"Then it would have been horrible War, with death on all sides." Casity whispered.
Jazmin nodded at her.
"Will you turn your boys when they become of age? Rose asked.
Jazmin smiled. "Rose, I don't have to turn my boys. They're Pure Shape Shifter Males."
Jazmin smiled. "Rose, I don't have to turn my boys. They're Pure Shape Shifter Males."
"A shape shifter gives birth to there mates kid's, and they're pure shape shifter. But before that happens you give the Academy Male and Female half breeds, from human males and shifter females. These children are the only children who can be turned and mated to Species of the Faction." The man who still hasn't introduced himself said.
Rose nodded her head. "So I can have a mate with anyone in the faction then?
Jazmin smiled this time.
"All Female Shifters can reproduce with anyone. Like your friends sitting here can. But only after they give to the Faction first, then they can go there own way."
"So I how long do Shape Shifters live? And how many children would I have to give to the Faction? I know the species in the faction live for thousands if not more year's."
The other Lady sitting next to the man with no name spoke up.
"I am Maze, I am snake Shifter. I am here to help you with any questions about Shifters. But I can also tell you that I am a hundred and twenty year's old. For a Shifter that is equivalent to a twenty year old human male. The longest ever lived Shape Shifter was seven hundred and eighty years old." Maze smiled.
Rose was dumb struck.
"So I give the Faction children and I can go on my way?
Maze, Jazmin and the Man all nodded.
"How many? Rose whispered.
Maze, Jazmin and the Man all nodded.
"How many? Rose whispered.
Maze and Jazmin smiled.
"You only have to give the faction eight children, if you so choose to give them more you can like I have." Jazmin said smiling.
"Alright, lets get me to this Breeding Academy, facility thing so I can learn and get this done with."
Maze smiled at Rose and Jazmin looked slightly worried.
"Rose I want you to know that being a Breeder isn't a bad thing. We are respected and honored and in most cases the Faction places us in high ranking classes of species to find mates after we are done, it is still an honor.''
Rose took a deep breath. "Do I get a choice like they do?
Maze and Jazmin looked to the man. "Yes. After you go through some classes and truly understand why you're so important."
Maze smiled at Rose and Jazmin looked slightly worried.
"Rose I want you to know that being a Breeder isn't a bad thing. We are respected and honored and in most cases the Faction places us in high ranking classes of species to find mates after we are done, it is still an honor.''
Rose took a deep breath. "Do I get a choice like they do?
Maze and Jazmin looked to the man. "Yes. After you go through some classes and truly understand why you're so important."
"When do I leave?
Jazmin and Maze smiled. "Now actually."
I have only read the summary, but already I am loving the original concept!
