Chapter 1

I was just spending time on the couch when Jena called me at 3 p.m.

“Hey Lilly, I have someone you should meet.” Jena said enthusiastically when I hear her child start to cry.

“Honey I love you and I know we have known each other since childhood but you can’t just call me at any time. I’m busy right now.” I shove food in my mouth.

“I know but someone here at headquarters wants to meet you. He heard a lot about you Lilly.” I sigh. After my last relationship I really did not want to get into another, but I would get to see Mal, Jena’s child.

“What the hell, sure I’ll come but I better see Mal and Loki.” I hear her start to giggle. I never heard her laugh before, it was nice.

“I’ll be there in 10.” I state and I get up.

When I stand, I get dizzy for a second, but I get on my nicest pair of jeans and a tunic top that was flows. There was no way I was wearing a dress to see this guy who ever it is. I trust and love Jena but when it comes to men, she does not know my type.

I run out to the car and turn the key to go meet Jena. I lived on the street near the headquarters so when I had missions, I did not live far so it would not take a long time to do missions. Plus, my friend is living in there too. She just showed back up from Asgard after losing her memory, getting married, and having a child. Luckily, she remembered me and called me when she got home and settled. I get to the building and she Steve waiting outside for me.

“What’s up Steve is there a mission?” He shakes his head.

“I want you to meet someone.” He points to his left where someone was standing next to him. He had longer hair and a leather jacket on with brown gloves. He was cute, but I cannot be sidetracked.

“Hello.” I say shyly and gaze into his eyes. He finally looks up at me.

“Hello.” He reaches out his right hand. “My name is James Barnes. My friends call me Bucky or Buck.” She says with a smile.

“Hello. My name is Lilly. You can just call me Lill.” He smiles a little more.

“Why don’t he head inside love-birds.” Steve says and we walk inside.

We head to a room filled with people who are arguing, and I see Mal and Loki sitting in the corner. I walk into the room and walk over to Loki. Loki stands up and I hug him. “Long time no see Loki.” He nods.

“Yes, it’s been an exceedingly long time. Meet Mal.” He hands Mal to me and I start to play with her. She was very giggly. I spot Bucky leaving the room and walking out to the porch and sitting down. “Here you go Loki I’m going to go talk to Bucky.” He nods and takes back Mal, and I walk over and ask Bucky “may I sit there?”

“Yea sure.” Bucky says and I take a seat.

“Are you ok? You look like you feel out of place why is that?”

“I’m not fully a good person. My past is clouded and not a hero-style life. I killed many but I was brainwashed.” He takes off his gloves and leather jacket to reveal a metal arm.

“Your-Your arm.” I say stuttering.

“Are-Are you scared?” He speaks.

“No, I’m not. I know who you are Bucky. I’m not worried about your past I’m just like you.”
