Prologue
The most catastrophic and profound things in life often happen within the span of a second which stretches on forever.
That one instant where your eyes meet and you relinquish your heart to them forever, that one moment where you find silence amidst the chaos, the smoke clears and the veils of deception disappear to let you see the naked truth, that one flash where betrayal clenches at your heart stopping it dead till it fights back to revive you and turns to stone in doing so, that one breath in which you decide to fight back for every second that lead up to that betrayal.
That moment in my life came when I decided to press the trigger...
