Chapter 1 - What I remember
Tick, tock , tick , tock.
Waiting...all this waiting; I hate it. I stare at the clock waiting for him to come back. My legs swing as I wait. The bed I am sitting on is nice. Well, as nice as you can get in this place.
Tick, tock, tick, tock.
More waiting. I look on the badge on my funny looking dress “Subject name: Maxine Winters. Threat level: Low. Power : Regeneration and ability to control plants and create plants " I put my badge down.
I got up and walked around the small, white room. The ground felt cold on my bare feet. The door was carefully opened and closed, I turn to see a man with kind eyes looking down at me with a smile. I decided I liked this man. He spoke in a soft voice, one that reminded me of the fluff of a teddy bear or the hair of my mother, "Maxine, Miss Lily will see you now" He spoke in the same tone of a parent.
The woman behind him loomed over his shoulder like a snake, her red hair was tied almost painfully tight into a bun on the top of her head (which happened to be a rather large one) . She didn't look as nice. "Maxine" She said with her pursed, pink lips barely moving at all. Her voice reminded me of my old teacher who used to hate me. I decided I did not like Miss Lily.
"You know why you are here don't you?" I shook my head, glaring at Miss Lily. I didn't know why they kept me here. I wanted to see my parents and my pet rabbit, Bun bun.
"Because you're a freak." She said with an evil grin. The man with kind eyes put a hand on her shoulder and gave her a stern look, his eyes not so kind as they were.
"Lily, be kind she's only young" I sat and watched as they argued and I soon became bored. I decide I would make a little flower to give to the kind man. He would like that.
All noise was blocked out. Silence- silence was needed for this bit. I focused hard and a small white orchid grew in my hands, it bloomed beautifully and I held it out to Miss Lily and the kind man
That was the first time I was hit by Miss Lily, the orchid flying out of my hands and breaking on the clean, cold, ground.
"You do not do that here. Do you understand?" She shouted at me, pointing her long, ugly fingers in my face. I was crying yet I nodded.
The kind man did nothing, his eyes were no longer kind and I was no longer a child...
I was a Prisoner.
