Chapter 1

I watch you breathing as you lie next to me asleep. It’s in these moments that I feel that most fleeting of feelings. It’s in these moments I feel peace. It so serene to watch your chest rise and fall as your heart works tirelessly to keep you alive. I’m so grateful for that heart. Because it pumped everyday and every night of your life in order to bring you to me. I honestly have no idea what I would do without you, you are my sun, my whole world revolves around you. I remember the first time I saw you as clear as if I was still in that moment. Our eyes met across a crowded room and I remember thinking, she’s the one. Even then I knew. Sometimes you just know. Every day that I have known you my feelings have only got stronger. I reach out a hand to brush the hair behind your ears. Your eyes flicker open, I must have brushed too hard, there’s a brief moment of confusion before your eyes focus and you see me, a smile begins to spread across your face which quickly turns to abject horror as you realise i’m wearing your husband’s face like a mask. Shh I whisper, don’t ruin the moment my love.

Ku_Rolet: The novel was good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I love the leads and their bond, but I have one question that confused me.
