Coming to Life!

Start writing here…Lia is a young girl of 11. She is quite talented and she lives with her mother, father, and brother which makes a perfect family. People in her town all adore her because of her kind and caring nature.

One fine day Lia decided to play Chess with her brother as he was continuously pestering her to do so. Lia and her brother went to the game corner, where all the games were kept. They took out the chess but oh! They realized it was broken and so was Aiden’s heart at realizing they could no longer play. Lia tried to cheer him up by making jokes or recommended some other games they could play but nothing lifted the spirit of Poor Aiden until------“Oh Aiden! I have a brilliant idea! You remember that chess dad said he had when he was young? “Yes, what about it?” Aiden asked “It’s in the attic! I know it because the last time I went in there to get grandma her puffy pillow, I saw it and I forgot to tell you” Lia finished. A smile quickly appeared on Aiden’s face. “What are we waiting for then? Hurry up!” and with that he had grabbed Lia’s hand and was racing towards the attic.

When they went inside, it was quite dark and, in a rush, they forgot to bring a candle with them. They were tripping over things and so they had to feel their way towards the wooden box. After so much struggle, the box was finally brought down. The box was quite rusty and had dirt all over it. They had to clean it before use. When all the dust was cleared, it was good to go. They opened the box clearly and something jumped out of it. They jumped back and then something else too jumped out, then another and then another until they realized that the little things were the chess pieces! The jumped up and down and tried to catch them but they all jumped out of the window and the wooden box was now empty.

When their dad came home, they told him and it turns out that the reason it was looked and not used for years is because the last time their dad was playing it with his brothers, it suddenly came to life and it is locked up in the attic since then. They have still not figured out the case.
