The bones are there
"I say this with love, but this story needs a lot of work. The characters are incredibly juvenile, and the writing/dialogue needs some maturing too, BUT the potential to have two complex and varied individuals working together towards something beautiful and healthy is there. It's just not actually fleshed out enough. Both characters are at fault, Aubrey more than Jax in my opinion, but Jax keeps getting punched and belittled, then profusely apologising and taking all the blame. Aubrey takes no real accountability for her massive part in all the conflict, plays games with Jax's head (always wanting space, staying silent, never talking, and then wanting Jax to make all the effort, ignore her request for space, and to apparently have been telepathic enough to know that her calling after ghosting him meant she really needed him,) and always has an excuse for her poor behaviour while never really allowing him the same grace she demands, nor allowing him to have his anger and grief and betrayed feelings - which is so totally unfair and unrealistic. The core plot points could be something really good, with some more mature characters/dialogue, and some real accountability without endless apologies and excuses. And stop punching people for goodness sake! "
Hard to love the male and female lead
"The male lead and female lead are honestly very hard to like. The writing and everything else is so good I want to finish the story, but I cant say I really care about how they end up. Love her brother Wes though, he's a gem, so is Trina. "
