Staring at my reflection
What a sight I see
Is there a monster that resides within me?
A monster not of terror, rather hurt and disappointment
Filled with regret and anger
Is this really me?
Is this a face I expose to the world?
Staring at my reflection how can this be?
How could I have let this monster spread all over me
Succumbing my beauty, ravishing my confidence
Consuming all of me, belittling my every existence
My face, shoulders, legs eyes and thighs
All have been replaced with an unrecognizable disguise.
My face once full of beauty
Innocence worn with silence
If only I had known it will be lasting a while
How I would have held onto that moment
Moment of monochrome….
I am staring at my reflection and the monster glares back at me.
