INNOCENCE lasts how long? What will happen to sweet little Sapphire when her innocence little mind and life screw right up. “Samantha look out-” Before she could respond she felt a sharp pain in her shoulder and something warm running down her arm. She had been shot. Another sharp pain erupted from her abdomen which had her dropping to the ground surrounded by a pool of dark red liquid. The sounds of gun firing and screaming got inaudible and her eyelids became heavy. The last thing she saw was her daughter’s sky blue eyes and then darkness took over.

Chapter 1

Moving was not new to Sapphire, it was something that their family have turn into a tradition. Four times per year, that was the amount of time they relocated every year. Sapphire took this as a chance to spread her “connections,” she was convinced that one day her parents’ wealth would disappear into thin air and that was when her connections would come in hand. But this relocation was the last according to her Dad, Scott. They were done running and decided if death was coming it would be better to welcome him with a brave heart and face.

The sunlight had started to creep up through the car window and had taken Sapphire out of her gaze. The long, shadowy trees were diminishing as the car drove down the endless road until only a few dwarf- like trees were present. They had been on the road for six hours non- stop so a little stretch time was definitely in order.

“Mother could you ask Georgie if we could stop for a couple of minutes, I am having some severe cramps.” Her mother turned and glared at her, daring her to ask such a demand again. Swallowing the lump in her throat, she lowered her head and grabbed her machine of pleasure, Barb. Sapphire was never a child to cause problems but now this was one of those situations and she needed to get out of the cramped car.

After a couple of pings, click and swoosh her mother finally gave in and demanded they stopped for fresh air.

“Sure feels good to be outside, nature has a away of making your life seem worth it”

“Sapphire Isabelle Sterling do not make me regret falling for your trap!”

Samantha knew what Sapphire was up to the moment she pulled out her phone. She could not admit to being cramped and bothered in that car for six hours non stop so Sapphire’s acting out came just in time and she quickly grabbed the opportunity. Sam stared at her daughter as she swirled around in her yellow flared dress. Sapphire will be of age next month and she did not want her to marry off into a life just like her.She did not deserve this life, she was too sweet and innocent. She had no idea what her parents did for a living and it would stay that way as long as her mother got her away from this mess before her birthday next month. Sam was going to make Sapphire escape.

“Samantha look out-”

Before she could respond she felt a sharp pain in her shoulder and something warm running down her arm.
