Prologue
โPromise me youโll stay forever?โ I whispered as he pressed a soft kiss to the back of my hand that he held tightly in his own two hands. His ring-clad fingers were intertwined with my own ring-clad fingers. It was because of him I started wearing rings. Some of the rings were his that he'd given me and others were a few that he'd bought for me.
โI promise,โ he replied softly as he tucked a strand of my sandy blond hair behind my ear. His voice didnโt falter. It should have. It always did when he lied. Or maybe he wasnโt lying when he said that? But he was. Anyone could have known that he was lying if they stood where I was standing today. But no...it was all because of that one day a year ago, that he chose to tell a lie. A lie so convincing that his own girlfriend didnโt see that it was a lie or anything as far from the truth as it really was.
Is there really any proper place to start this story? I could go back to the day I was born and tell you about the abuse I went through as a child. Or I could start at the day I first started at Bedford College and the trouble I had making friends. Or maybe I could start at the day I first met my lovely boyfriend that now I cry for him to come back to me each and every day? Where to start...where to start.
