A Steamboat, 2 Dakota’s and Akira class starships orbited the planet (surrounding a space dry dock) as a Type 8 shuttle flew from the Dakota class carrier to the surface, passing others to and fro the surface, and once passed re-entry it flew through over a forested plateau and passed multiple shuttles, either types 6-9 or construction and salvage, before flying over a saucer section of a Galaxy class starship lying on the surface with six, large towers surrounding it with large, barrel shaped structures sitting on top and aiming at the lying saucer and approached a large, tritanium-blue box shaped complex built against the side of a medium height mountain range and over its gray-granite base. The Type 8 flew into the shuttle terminal, beneath the offices of the complex, and into the high domed interior with a broad opening before the shuttle landed and came to rest, next to a Generations type and when the craft came to a full stop, the door opened and a tanned skin, young male Starfleet officer stepped out and into the busy terminal. He first looked around the terminal to get his bearings before he turned left and walked away from the craft and towards an escalator when someone called out, “Hey Riva!” Captain Riva stopped and looked about in puzzlement till he saw an Andorian, but with really short antenna that are the size of pinky’s and skin really light blue, approached him with a big smile and Riva returned in kind and they both shook hands as Riva spoke with some enthusiasm that even some of Starfleet personnel surrounding them looked at them, “Commander Andor! Haven’t seen you since the academy! How have you been doing?” Commander Andor replied with a smile, “Doing great captain.” He glanced at Riva’s rank as he continued, “Looks like you have made an impression to rise faster than the rest of our class.”, Riva rolled his eyes and replied sarcastically, “Oh man, I have kissed so many rears that I swear I was going to be one of those mute captains.” They both laughed and at that moment someone bluntly spoke, “Looks like we got a fraternizer in our hands.” Both Riva and Andor looked to their right and left and saw a Centaurian Commander approaching them with a blank look and stood between them as they looked at him with awe for a few moments and then the Centaurian smirked and spoke calmly, “Got you.” And Andor and Riva both smiled and tried to stifled their laugh as they looked down, nodded and Riva looked back up and said, “Engineer Clark, I still swear you should have been a doctor and not an engineer.” Clark turned his left side slightly towards the captain and spoke with a smile, “That’s Chief Engineer sir.” Both Andor and Riva looked impressed and Andor said, “Nice Tom. So where are you off to?” Clark looked at him with puzzlement and then Riva and noticed he is curious too and he looked at Riva and stated, “I’m the Chief Engineer of this new ship they are throwing together.” Andor then looked puzzled and both he and Riva looked at each other as Andor spoke, “Wait, I’m assigned as the executive officer of that ship as well.” Riva looked both baffled and said, “Huh. Interesting. Three classmates assigned to the same ship in the top three positions. How rare is….” “You are to report to the Admiral’s office Captain Riva.” All three of them looked to Riva’s left to see a female Vulcan Starfleet officer standing there, with her hands behind her back, and Andor sighed and said, “Well, I guess we’ll talk to you later captain.” Riva replied in the same solemn tone, “You’re no doubt right commander.” He looked at both his classmates and stated, “See you on board gentlemen.” Both Andor and Clark snapped to attention before Riva turned and followed the Vulcan Lieutenant, while Andor and Clark watched them go up the escalator and disappeared as they walked off and Andor asked with caution in his voice, “Do you think all this is a setup for what happened on the moon base?” Clark replied, “If it is, whoever in Starfleet Headquarters assigned us to this ship will have a little more to worry about than our captain. That’s for sure.” Clark walked away calmly while Andor looked at where the captain disappeared from view and back at Clark with some worry before he followed Clark away to pick up their bags before getting ready to board.
Captain Mike Riva entered a large office with a wide window view of the Galaxy class saucer section and appears that all the various types of shuttles and ground crews are either flying or moving away from it when his attention was pulled away when he heard the sound of sliding doors. Riva looked and saw a Tellarite in a Starfleet admiral’s uniform entered to the left and behind a desk and Riva snapped to attention before the Tellarite spoke as he sat behind the desk, “Afternoon Captain Riva. I heard you have met some of your classmates.” Riva replied (still at attention), “Sir yes sir.” Grumbly waved a hand to a chair in front of his desk, “Relax captain and sit.” Riva relaxed and sat in front of the admiral, all the while the admiral leaned in front of his desk, smirked and said, “Looks like you finally get your first command, young captain. And that’s only because what you just did two months ago saved the Algerian System and all 3 trillion of the inhabitants of the system.” Riva looked blankly at Grumbly, “Thank You admiral. Unfortunately I had no other choice except what I did.” Grumbly gave a grunt, “Your captain on the Intrepid didn’t think so, but that’s history. For your actions Starfleet Command has decided to grant you a ship that we are now in the final phase of construction.” Riva looked confused and asked, “You mean my ship is not ready yet?” Grumbly replied, “Yes, but it will be in a week. Our private contractor, Space Z, was able to fully repair the saucer section and is now ready to begin lifting it up from the surface to space, where it will dock with the rest of the ship.” Riva (still confused), “The last I heard of the Enterprise D is it is not salvageable according to Starfleet Command.” “That report is when the crew was rescued and no private contractor was allowed to analyze and help at that time till now.” Riva looked alert and behind and he saw a man in a suit entered the room, smirking and Grumbly answered Riva’s mental question, “This is John Musk III, head of Space Z. He has personally lead the salvage operation…..” Musk finished, “And both restored and upgraded the interior of the saucer section. Utopia shipyards was also kind enough to build the drive section and sent it here so your ship can be completed.” Riva looked back at the admiral and asked, “Are any members of the Enterprise here to observe this and the launch?” Grumbly gave a short laugh and answered, “No captain! Captain Riker is on assignment on the Titan and the Enterprise is on the same assignment, negotiating peace with the Romulans. Bringing the complete end of the Neutral Zone.” Riva took a breath, “That would be interesting.” Grumbly spoke with some malice, “Yes, but we went through this with the Romulans before. I’ll believe it when I see our representatives and their’s shake hands and sign a paper saying we have achieved peace. But now our mission is to get your ship ready and go on your first assignment as soon as possible.” Riva asked, “And what assignment is that, admiral?” Admiral Grumbly answered, “Simply returning equipment used to rebuild and assemble your ship back to Mars and Earth.” Riva smirked, “Huh, sounds easy admiral.” Grumbly did not smile, but frowned, “Only if the ship is not brand spanking new.” Riva looked confused but after noticing the admiral smiled Riva’s expression changed to shock, “You mean we are also doing ship trials and testing while on our first assignment?!” Grumbly gave a short laugh, “Yes captain. That is exactly what you and your crew will be doing. And I expect the ship to arrive exactly in the same condition it is when you warp out.” Mush intervened, “And I and my staff will be along as both advisors and passengers.” Riva looked back at him in shock and saw Musk gave a hint of a smirk, before turning back to the admiral, “Sir, this is highly irregular!” Grumbly looked at Riva firmly, “And you will follow them. Or should we reopen the case with Starfleet?” Riva’s hands tightened on the armrests as he looked at the admiral with discipline as he answered, “No sir. It will be done.” Musk came from behind and laid out a data pad with the Space Z logo on the screen, “I suggest you read all the material before we depart in a week.” Riva looked a little grim at the data pad and then at Musk as he continued, “The rest of your senior staff have the same files as well and will instruct the rest of the crew in their departments before you leave.” The admiral stood up, straighten his tunic and said, “Now Mr. Musk, I believe the launch of the saucer section is about to start soon. If I am correct?” Musk replied, “Yes, the gravity lifters will engage in 30 minutes.” When Grumbly and Musk started moving towards the door behind the admiral’s desk, Riva quickly gathered his data pad before following them behind and into a hallway (with windows on the left side still facing the downed saucer section) to a place where he will watch the launch of the saucer section, except when he left the admiral’s office he saw eight Starfleet officers standing at attention and facing the windows with Grumbly and Musk watching and waiting for him.
