BEYOND CURIOSITY AND CAREFULNESS

My mind is my crown, but my heart is my throne—

a princess with a past who found someone to know.

Confused by motives, 23 months of drought ended

by a person of consideration and gentleness.

Oh, those nostalgic love songs I kept avoiding—

who knew it would follow me 'til 1 in the morning?

Please, take it slow. You caught me off guard.

Let's dance carefully to avoid petty and naive wars.

I see familiar patterns that reach a stalemate,

but also receiving new treasures to appreciate.

Don't tell me we are on black-and-white tiles—

steering clear of games that took away my smile,

for a while.

I sing in silence and write from loneliness,

but you told me I was beautiful when I was at my lowest.

I have nothing to offer but calm, peace, and sincerity—

emotions are being held back until I feel stability.

There's no need to rush, it's still early,

I want to know you more in moments and memories

with a chance to love and be loved tenderly.

Walk blindly together; in slight braveness, take my hand.

Don't let me wait for cold messages, again—

just protect me if you will, but forget me if you can't.
