Placed In Another World

Placed In Another World

When you woke up you felt a cold sensation down your spine. Whenever you opened your eyes that feeling totaled you. It was like you were under different blankets and pillows than your own. You bounced out of the covers and realized that you weren’t crazy at all.

This wasn’t your room! You couldn’t believe your eyes! You seemed to be in a different house! Your room is supposed to be more modern, but this place looks smaller than your room and it was like it was a house from a century or two ago excluding the wide flat-screen television. However, the screen was missing, so it was pretty much just a frame hanging from the wall.

The bedroom you were in looked so basic; like you were inside a bed that looked more petite than your usual resting place, and it had a boring teal blanket without any cool designs on it. You looked down at your hands and saw them to be the hands of a little kid!

You were shaking uncontrollably, and you just wanted to see your mother and best friend again! This was all a shock to you. The only thing you could do is only imagine who your kidnappers were, but that brought to no avail.

Your gut had the feeling of getting up and exploring this old-timey house, but you knew deep down that your kidnappers could track you down faster than a starving lion eats its prey.

As you pondered in your despair and confusion you could only peer at particular surroundings. There was an arrangement of letters on the wall spelling out the name of a person named Liam in light blue, and below was another one below it with the name Aziza in purple. You have never met someone named Aziza before. Is she the girl in the other bed?

Other pieces of furniture included the kind of tv without a screen from before and plenty of posters of a guy with a torch which looked remarkably similar to this one game shows host on a beach late at night and other ones similar to it with some kind of logo on every single one. There weren’t any phones, computers, or video games in your sight.

There was also a large bookshelf with every shelf being almost full to the brim with books both big, small, and in between. There were also two bean bags, one being blue and squished and the other being pink and having one deep spot. Other than that you could imagine yourself relaxing in one after a long day. Although you don’t see yourself relaxing anytime soon!

You didn’t know what to think of this other than that you were kidnapped and brought here, but why do you have a different body? Did they switch your body and use yours for some kind of experiment and they just threw your soul into this little boy.

No way that could happen though, this must be another weird dream, you don’t dream that often and when you do, they are very strange, but very short and you can barely remember any details about them the next day. It will most likely be the same thing with this one, but it was sort of like a virtual reality game.

You could move around with your free will, but you wanted to step out of the bed, but something was telling you not to. It was like this boy sort of still had some say in the manner. He is probably not a morning person. If you’re even up this early in the day in the first place. It could easily be dusk or something like that. You don’t know. Anyway, you are just stuck with the idea that this is another random dream, but you somehow have more control in this dream.

That is what might be going on, but this somehow felt kind of right. Like you have stepped right into this room before, but you can’t place your finger on it. However, that conclusion is probably too far-fetched.

On the other side of the small room was a little girl sleeping and she was snoring louder than an elephant. She had long azure blue hair, a mole below her left eye and eyebrows that made her face look naturally upset at someone.

You thought she was exceptionally beautiful until the moment she woke up and called you out. You had no clue who she was, but when she turned to you. You couldn’t help but feel some nostalgia from her dark blue eyes.

“Morning Liam. I couldn’t help but notice your staring. If we weren’t siblings, I would have assumed that you had a little crush on me. Don’t stare at your older sister.” She remarked with a slight giggle and wink.

You replied with an angry remark, but it wasn’t you saying it exactly, it just came out of your mouth. Like you had no control again.

“Hey, I am only a few minutes younger than you! That doesn’t give you the right to call me your little brother.” You darted back to her annoyed, you honestly didn’t even care, but that’s what this guy stated.

When she got out of the blankets you noticed she had a mole on her left kneecap. You also noticed that there was nail polish on her toes, but you could tell she did it herself since it was snobbishly applied with parts of her toenails still not having polish.

If you were an eight-year-old you would have considered that cute but going back on topic you wanted to clear up this whole situation, but still have the chance to explore this world before you regain consciousness. She had a thin body seemingly skinnier than the average eight-year-old, but it wasn’t concerning. Besides you have much more to care about besides how someone looks, but they just look… abnormal in various ways.

It was easy to spot her from a crowd by her long straight hair that stretched out halfway down her legs. Imagine how long it will get when she is longer. She would probably become a blue-haired Rapunzel!

You were about to pound her with tons of questions. Enough to take up an entire day, but it was like a force was pushing you back. As you tried to open your mouth nothing came out. It didn’t even open in the first place.

Something made you reply with another answer you didn’t even think of saying. It was like you were a dog tied to a lamp post. You wanted to explore the world and its infinite possibilities, but there was a force or person in this case holding you back.

“I was only waiting for you to get up so we could prepare for our birthday party! Don’t tell me you forgot?“

“Don’t have to tell me my birthday! She shouted at you and before you could say what you wanted you responded on your own again.

At this rate you could be seeing through the eyes of this little boy, but not able to control what he does. This could be a simulation. It’s like you were a camera watching a film through the eyes of this kid which would be unbelievable, but at the same time what are you expecting at this point.

You and your apparent sister’s little tussle was interrupted by the door.

A taller girl about 5’9 or so stepped into the room, and she also had long hair with straight bangs. Her hair wasn’t as long as your twin sisters, but it still made it halfway down her back. Compared to your sister’s it seemed neater.

She also had sandy yellow eyes and she had a joyful expression on her face and a confident swing in her step.

She seemed very friendly, and she had a yellow crop top to match her eyes. She also seemed to work out as you noticed she had toned abs. Overall she looked like the average girlfriend all men dreamt of in their sleep.

“Good morning Liam, Aziza. Are you ready for a day full of fun!” The girl exclaimed, and the words she said flew through your ears and out again.

She had a very light voice, and if you weren’t careful you wouldn’t hear her right since she had a light voice. Like it was trapped in an airy scent.

This girl seemed like a person who would be run over by a truck, but she would easily forgive you and act as if nothing happened.

Your estranged sister was extremely excited, and she ran up to the girl and hugged her. However she jumped back into bed again. She pointed the palm of her right hand at the thing that looked a lot like a tv, but the older girl shook her finger at her, and she put her hand down. What was that about?

“Of course, we are excited, or at least I am! This is the one day a year I get to feel like a princess, and I still have another 130 birthdays after this. The party is only getting started.” She said casually to the girl while you were shaking inside, but the boy seemed fine when reacting to the comment.

Imagine living almost 140 years, that’s over double the age some people in African countries live for, are these even people or some kind of aliens. You bet the hair color isn’t even hair dye, it’s a kind of power or something.

Let’s recap this situation so far. You have been thrown into this weird world where people have these unique hair colors and eyes. You could consider it to be hair dye and eye contacts but who knows if this universe even invented those things yet. On the other side of the room where the beds were pointing was a tv that didn’t even have a screen, but it still had the rim. There are more important things than that, but what is with these people? Thank goodness this is just a dream.

“You can watch the television while I prepare breakfast for you two. I heard there was a new episode of Expressing Your Power for Nerds! I know you love that show, Aziza!” She said to the girl in the other bed, so that must be the girl whose name on the wall belongs to.

She nodded and looked like she was doing some kind of circular motion with her hands

Her eyes turned green as she was moving her hands like that. A green light to match her suddenly lime green eyes appeared between her hands and it kept growing larger until she targeted the rim of the device and shot at it.

You heard some kind of sound that sounded like wind chimes and like that the tv had a screen. You were very shocked, but if they didn’t know what happened you had to act naturally.

“Thank gosh we have elemental powers, or that television would be worthless! We don’t want to use human technology! I wouldn’t be caught dead using a remote.” Aziza ranted, and you felt slightly insulted by that comment.

The device didn’t even have a remote to use in the first place. Is this a mystical dream of some kind? Why does it seem so familiar, yet so new to you?

“Liam! What do you think of the theme we chose for the party! Do you still like the idea right!? Half of Expressing Your Powers for Nerds related! Half Survivors related!” She said and your thought of this one tv show you had on your planet, but without the s in the name. You haven’t ever heard of the first name.

I know how much you like that show even though it is a human rip-off of a show on a distant planet named Earth or something like that. I wonder what life even is like being a human and on a planet like that! I heard in class that their planet is dying!” She went on about and she wasn’t incorrect.

“Okay, you can slow down. Why do you not like humans that much? They are all right to me, they are just like us! They only don’t have magical powers and stuff like we do! Oh, I forgot to mention this again, but you’re only a few minutes older than me like I told you before!” The boy explained to his frustrated sister who didn’t have that many nice words to say about your kind which offended you, but you couldn’t say anything back since you were seeing through the eyes of this boy.

At least he is cool about humans.

The teenage girl eventually came back in with a cumbersome number of utensils in her arms. The food looked like pancakes, but they looked like they were sparkling and it was like a family of fairies had sprinkled magical spices on top of them! The pancakes also looked like they were the color of raspberry, thank gosh they aren’t blood red, or you would have thrown them across the room and waited for a dog to eat them.

“Wow, the fairies cooked them very well! We should give those fairies a promotion. They deserve it for making both tasty food while making it look beautiful at the same time! Can I adopt one?!” Aziza said in glee and your so-called older sister smiled and explained.

“Oh, they belong to our family! So, we all technically adopted them, so thank mom and dad for them. Anyway, I am going to go study. Greenspan academy is a mighty school, but they still want you to be pretty prepared! You will understand when you are older. I can’t wait to go there for my first year.” She explained with the book from earlier in her hands still with the title Fortune Telling for Beginners by Tasha Springfield.

By the condition of the book, it must have been made centuries before you were born and the text on it seemed to be wearing off too.

The one thing that was strange about the book wasn’t its content, but it was in-between the pages and it appeared to be an article with a man with a mustache and a white tank top singing in front of a large crowd. Sure! You hoped that your sister had an awesome time ‘studying’!

Excluding all the so-called powers and upsetting terms you heard, fortune-telling is the closest thing here that you could get an understanding of if you tried learning the subject, but that is technically not even real according to most people. You decided to start eating the pancakes and you almost prayed for them not to kill you, but you felt like a new person after the first bite!

The pancakes were enchanting, and you felt a boost of energy afterward with a dash of ambition and wish-fulfilling. You regretted judging them before you got this delightful sensation.

Your sister was practicing some spells of some sorts with her hands again specifically on the pet cat she had or what looked like a cat, but it was blue and had black stripes like a zebra going from its neck to its long tail that instead of being completely fluffy got thinner and thinner with a horn at the end of it and for a moment the animal looked you square in the pupils.

The hazel eyes met the cat’s eyes that looked as dark as leaves in the jungle. You were dazed by the cat, and before you knew it your head slammed onto the now clean plate. Your head was like a metal sticking to a magnet. You had to pull with all your might to get your head off the plate. What in the world was that about?

“Hey! You aren’t supposed to look Carol straight in her eyes! You are lucky you didn’t pass out! That is what usually happens, consider yourself lucky!” Aziza shouted at you.

You were forced to apologize to the girl even though if you had control over what you could say you would tell her you were done with her attitude and obliviousness. However, that was only a dream inside what you hoped was yet another dream.

“Liam! Aziza! Can both of you come out here really quick!” A voice from outside the house shrilled, and you followed your twin sister outside of the house.

What you encountered was a simple backyard with grass freshly trimmed by someone, and the preparations looked like ordinary party supplies. Many balloons, decorations, and more.

In the corner of the yard, there was an abundance of flashing lights surrounded by white picket fences, and an unusual number of flowers that you couldn’t identify.

You expected them to fly out of there and swirl around you and turn into a magical prince or something, but that never happened, and they just kept to their work.

On a picnic bench under what looked like a tree with illuminating blue leaves were many unique styles of décor like party hats with two different men on them. There was one guy who looked like a classic magician but without the wand. You would usually see those guys with. However, these people can do magic without wands, unlike a world you wish you were dreaming about instead of this.

There was also a guy with a torch and a logo on the other half of the party hats. Must be a television show. You and your so-called sister prepared for around half an hour, you wanted to just run off and explore, but you would just be brought back by these people. It was like you were inside an inescapable jungle. Also, why are the kids preparing for the party? Shouldn’t the adults be doing all the work?

There was a very intense feeling in the air like something was about to happen, but nothing weird occurred other than the skies turning gray thanks to the clouds. You eventually saw a hot air balloon high up in the sky close to reaching the clouds. You had a moment to stop working on the party area and you grabbed your older sister’s binoculars. She apparently used to keep an eye out on magical creatures this universe had, which you aren’t even going to start wondering about right now.

In the air was an air balloon with red and blue stripes. A man with some exotic blue and yellow hair was riding in the basket, and he had a firm look on his face. He raised his hand against the clouds and a beam of light came up to them. If that light was anywhere closer to your face you would probably go blind. You couldn’t even describe in words the magic that was occurring in front of your eyes right now, but you couldn’t help but be amazed.

“What are you looking at Liam? That guy is just getting rid of the clouds, so it doesn’t rain. Don’t tell me you forgot that too. You are always forgetting everything. You need to see a doctor about that. A kid that just turned eight years old with Amnesia. That could be a first!” Your sister shrieked as she was finishing the party decorations.

You rolled your eyes at that statement which you could do now. You are slowly getting control of this kid’s body compared to before when you could only think about what’s going on through him. The only tricky thing is that you must not step out of character in front of all these people, or you would get yourself into an awkward predicament.

You never had a dream like this before. Is this what people call Lucid Dreaming? You always thought preparations were supposed to be made for that! You aren’t doing it on purpose compared to others putting plenty of effort into it.

From the back door came in a man with a knight’s helmet with a giant sword. He took off his helmet and it revealed a man that looked to be in his twenties or early thirties. He had renaissance dark yale blue hair and an anchor mustache and slight stubble on his small chin. The man also had ocean blue eyes, and he had a disgruntled look on his face for some reason.

After the young man stepped out of the house an older woman around forty or so followed suit. She also had messy blue hair and yellow eyes like your older sisters, but her cornflower blue hair only went down slightly past her neck.

“Lukas, you are overworking yourself! Nothing is going to happen if you’re gone for only one day! Look at the expressions on your younger brother and sister’s faces! You don’t want to wipe the smiles off their faces, right?” The woman explained in an annoyed tone, but it seemed your brother wasn’t moved by her explanation.

“Amelia, if we are going to speak about this, we have to do it when the kids aren’t around. We can’t give them hints about anything.” Lukas explained to the woman.

“It is mom to you! Anyway, come here.” Amelia asked Lukas and then the two started whispering amongst themselves.

He whispered back, and just like that they separated ways as the older woman approached the two of you with excitement in her step.

“Welcome back mommy! You seem excited! What happened at the interview? Did you get the job?” Your sister asked your mom in this universe even though you are technically just meeting this woman for the first time.

“Oh, they hired me on the spot! I just get them my information and boom! I got the job. They were in dire need of more employees.” She announced to the two of you.

“They only had one nurse, and the poor woman couldn’t take care of so many kids. Ever since me and my b- I mean your father and I first went to that school in the late eighties.” She explained to the two of you, but you both tilted your head in confusion about the issue since you both did not have a clue about any academy in the area.

“I didn’t think that multiple nurses needed mommy. The ones I see on the television usually just put ice on the injuries or send the students home. Why are two nurses needed for?” Aziza questioned your mother, and she explained yet another thing you couldn’t comprehend.

She sighed once she realized the confusion as if she didn’t want to tell the both of you, but she got very calm and started talking again.

“I am not a nurse at a normal school like you two go to. This is where your big brother went to when he was younger, if only he had a bigger brain and maybe he would not have to risk his life every day!” She shouted towards the window where she saw the two adults whispering to each other.

They noticed her shouting and ran out to the front door. You could see them running down the dirt road in front of the house with annoyed grins on their faces, but not before shouting back at your mother.

“Good job whispering mother! You are as quiet as a mouse!” Lukas teased your mother before following the other person down the road.

I guess that no matter what age you are, your parents shouting at you still has the same effect as it would on a six-year-old as it would if you were thirty or forty.

“Sorry about your brother, but this school is different from any other school you can think of. To be honest I don’t know what to call it since it’s like a fantasy land from any little kids’ dreams.” Your mother dreamingly described the school.

“It’s like a kingdom, but for education. When I went there many years ago, I had a very magical experience, except for what went down in my third year, but that’s where you will go in a few years. I don’t want to spoil anything, so just wait until you’re both at least sixteen years old then you can go. To be honest if your dad wasn’t so smart he wouldn’t have started a whole year before and never met me.” She explained it to you both.

You two looked at each other in confusion thinking what this all meant.

“Mom, I don’t understand isn’t that when you are supposed to go to college and get a degree?”

“No, that’s for the nerds and politicians, but we are risk-takers and want to have fun. You don’t want to sit at a desk all day doing bloody packets of math or campaigning every day, right?” your mother marveled at the two of you trying to excite the mood, but the two of you were still perplexed.

“You won’t understand now, but me, your father, and brother will help you when you get to the point when the both of you go to Greenspan along with Alyssa. Who I know we are pampering well.” She added.

“Anyway, the guests will be arriving any minute now. If you excuse me, I have to find your stubborn brother and sister.” She insisted and she turned around and looked around to see if the two of them were anywhere nearby, but they were far gone by now.

Your mother walked off in a fast gait through the white backyard gate which was remarkably similar to one where horses would go through. She stomped off and you and your sister were left alone again.

“I heard a little about that academy a while ago. A long time ago one of the sacred elements was hidden there. I would tell you about it, but you would forget what I said by tomorrow morning. Besides, you always forget what position our brother plays in the army that our parents failed to keep a secret. Can you at least tell me his position?” Aziza inquired you, and you were in hot water now.

You really didn’t know that since you don’t know that much about this kid’s life, but the answer came right out of you as you opened your mouth to say I don’t know.

“Lukas is a medic. He was trained to heal wounds and save lives.” You muttered and your sister gave you a stern glare, but she laid off.

“No, that is way off! Lukas is the assistant to the leader of the entire army! I have no clue where you got the assistant nurse?” Aziza badgered you, and your relief from before was stripped away from you once again.

“I don’t know what they are fighting because when I was eavesdropping, they caught me spying on them when dad walked into the room. It was just getting to the interesting part. They were talking about this crazy lady causing major destruction, but they could have just been talking about a roleplay or something of that nature.” Aziza recollected, and this is where you had a frightening revelation.

Something bad is probably about to happen and all of these friendly faces would be stained blood red and filled with horror, but you could just be overthinking again.

That couldn’t be a roleplay, usually, adults won’t chat about things like that unless they didn’t have a childhood and are finally having the opportunity to. However, that is just unrealistic for adults to roleplay stuff like that.

“Do you know this is all a big joke our parents are planning for us or is this real?” You asked her confused and she seemed annoyed, maybe you were asking her too many questions.

You saw her drink a sip of water then she replied with a stern look on her face. She walked over to the fairy area as she rambled on then she exploded with fury at you.

“You sound a lot like an old man! I am only eight years old. How am I supposed to know that? Ask mom or dad and maybe they will know!” She exclaimed and she skipped away from you toward the cake.

It was being brought in by a man with light blue hair and a mustache with what looked like a wooden leg that he was trying to cover like it was a normal leg, but you couldn’t help, but easily notice.

“Hey, Dad, what happened to your leg?” You asked, realizing you said dad and not saying a random man.

“Oh, um I will tell you when you are older like I said before. The scene is too graphic to tell you two. You are only turning eight, it’s not like you are fifteen or around that age.” He reminded you as he sat down on one of the chairs around the big table with the white cloth on it.

“Besides, your uncle said he would cure it after the party. He is finally taking a break from traveling. Lincoln thought that he would be needed at some point, but I definitely have no idea why.” He suspiciously added, and he seemed to realize what he said, and seemed like he would travel back in time to warn himself not to tell you both that.

In your eyes, this is a little fancy for a kid’s birthday. They don’t know what kind of people will come and trash everything up.

“Anyway, you two should pay attention to your surroundings. I see a purple-haired girl in-between you guys.” He said pointing in-between you and Aziza.

As if on cue you felt someone poking your shoulder. You looked down to see a short purple-headed girl with big blue eyes as dark as the night sky with a rare kind of sprinkle of white in her pupils.

They looked like little sprinkles in her eyes like someone showered her pupils with salt and had plenty of fun doing it. She also had a tint of lipstick along with a small nose. If you had to guess how old she was you would assume she was the early age of five or six. She also had long tapered hair the color of a dark magenta.

You had no clue where she came from. It was like she appeared out of nowhere, she seemed pretty casual, quiet and a little submissive, but she seemed excited to talk to you.

“Hello Liam, Aziza, Mr. Ainsley, I am sorry I teleported here all of a sudden, but I just wanted to come early to see if I could help you two prepare at all.” She asked as she put her presents for you two in the big mess of presents on the table. Her two presents had nametags on them. One of them had this kid’s name Liam and the other one had the name Queen Ainsley on it.

“Aw thank you Olivia I will become queen one day I just know it! If it isn’t me then Alyssa or mom can, or at least someone from this family!” She rambled on in her excited and outgoing tone funny how that will turn out in the future…

“Oh, it was no problem. Even though my father doesn’t make that much money he said I could get little gifts for the both of you. Sorry if it isn’t that much when you open them up later on.” The girl said in a slow high-pitched angelic voice.

Her voice sounded like it could calm down any argument just by her speaking up with that peace-making tone of voice. She seemed more peaceful than a tamed cat.

“Hey Olivia if your father doesn’t make much then you don’t have to get the kids anything it’s all right. How much did they cost? I will pay you back the exact amount of money you spent.” Your father suggested pulling out some kind of tablet.

“Well, my father told me to tell you if you offered any money, he would just give it back to you, so sorry. I am not allowed to accept money and I don’t like disobeying anyone unless I don’t have any other choice.” She countered your father, and he rolled his eyes.

“Wow, he knows me well. This is what happens to charitable people kids!” Your father joked, and Olivia uncomfortably giggled in response.

“It seems like it’s Mr. Ainsley- Wait where are you going?” Olivia questioned your father as he walked away from the conversation.

He ran off somewhere out the gate, but not before analyzing what was inside each box. Possibly estimating the price for each object and then that’s when he rushed out of the property with his tablet still in hand. These people must have some kind of cryptocurrency and not pocket money. Looks like they are more advanced than you originally thought.

The three of you then chatted about anything to mind, but your sister mostly dominated the conversation talking about herself the majority of the time. She rambled on what she thought was in the presents, and how she would somehow get more presents than you. Which didn’t make any sense, but these kids are only eight, what did you expect?

Eventually, the party went underway and tons of other kids the little boy’s age arrived. Some of them were pretty loud and other ones were more mature and had normal conversations.

If you were eight years old again you wouldn’t wish for anything else. A large party with all of your friends, and family, and it would be a day full of surprises.

During your party, you noticed there was a young girl that isolated herself from the rest of the party guests.

There was always that one kid who was super shy and didn’t interact with anyone like it was their parent’s idea to force them to go to the party in the first place. You felt pretty bad that this girl was all by herself and you went up to her to see if something was wrong.

“Hello, why aren’t you at the party? Everyone is having a fun time and we are about to open the presents. How about you come on over?” You asked her and she declined by shaking her head while she was putting her hands up in her hair.

The little girl had her mouth open as if she was about to say something, but a word never came out.

Her hair was very abnormal compared to everyone else. All the other kids had hair that was like the colors on a rainbow which coincidentally was in the distant past all the buildings of the medieval times looking homes.

In this world, you bet people are going to find the end of it and there would be an actual pot of gold at the end, but anyway, this girl had primarily fizzy red hair with it being very wavy in the back. In the front, it was pretty straightforward except for the braided part.

The girl’s hair color wasn’t just one color or not even two it was three distinct colors and it looked too real for it to be hair dye. She had a part of the front of her hair that was a lemon yellow and she had a blue fade like the ocean, and her eyes were a whole different story. Her right eye was light yellow and her left eye was a dark purple.

The girl finally spoke after a minute of awkward silence. You could tell she was slightly blushing, and she was still playing with her hair. You could tell you were making her at the least slightly uncomfortable.

“I would go back to the party, but everyone will make fun of me some more. One of those kids called me a freak and ugly something, but I can’t say the last part was a swear word. Please leave me alone if you are going to say something that’s rude.” The girl pointed out and she slowly started to walk away from you, but you were still curious.

You caught up with her to catch her name since you never met someone that looked as unique as her before.

“Hey before you go can you tell me your name, please, and if you stay. I will be sure to keep an eye on all the others.” You told her, but she didn’t reply and kept walking, but she slowed down a bit then turned around to face you and looked you straight in the eyes.

“Oh, I can see what’s going on with you. You aren’t Liam, well you are but it’s you in the future. My father said to look out for you. This isn’t a dream Maxwell, this is your old reality. You are only just starting to remember everything.” She said and that word began to echo in your mind.
