Jinx
"That was it.. Wasn't it?
Everything I touch burn to ashes, everyone I love leaves me at the end, am I unworthy of love Or is it just the world who doesn't know how to treat someone who is willing to even give up herself just to have a particular person in her life?" She said to herself after releasing a breath she didn't know she was holding, tears fighting her waterline trying to escape those beautiful chocolate brown eyes but she refused to release them. She can't show the world that how she is dying by the each passing second.
A Voice in the air disturbed her.
"Suhaana, don't stand there, sit inside." Her lawyer said.
He cleared the way for her and she took steps forward, she came inside the room and sat on the chair, waiting for her husband who is soon going to be her ex-husband. She explored the world of her thoughts once again "Am I doing right by separating my daughter from her father? Obviously I am right what else should I do, live with that cheater and let my angel grow up in his presence? No, I can't do that but-
A masculine hand on her shoulder brought her out of her thoughts and two little feet kicking her face, marking their presence. It was her father holding her daughter in his hands. His dad kneeled towards her and kissed her on her temple "You are taking the right decision my daughter, I am proud of you."
That's it.. One sentence was enough to sweep all the doubts out of her head, the tears in her eyes finally lost the war against her father's affection and rolled down her red nose. There's the only person in whose presence she can cry. He took her in his embrace, hugging two generations on the each side of his chest. The little one couldn't control herself and cried along with her mother.
"Oh! Not you too angel, see mommy is okay. She is strong enough to handle any situation" Her father said to the little one but the baby was not convinced like she could read the mind of her mother and knew she was not okay.
Suhaana stood up and scooped her daughter, baby's cheeks on resting mumma's shoulder. "I will do anything to protect you my angel, I will become the shield between you and the intoxication of the world. You will not live the life like your mother." She told her.
After finishing procedures of getting divorced, all three went home. She was free finally, she was single, single mother. Her angel slept on her shoulder as her father was driving. She once again lost in her thoughts.
After reaching home both mother of the little one and father of the older one went to their separate rooms. She laid her daughter down and went to her father's room, stopping right at the entrance. Her presence didn't go unnoticed by her father "Come here hana" Her father said. She obeyed like a little child and sat in front of her father. Tears started to fall from her eyes again and between her tears she said to her father "You know dad what I regret the most, that my daughter will never have a father like I have."
"But she has a mother that you didn't have" Her father continued "She has a mother who can guide her, who can cook delicious food for her, who can braid her hairs, who can listen to her unconditionally, that's all a child needs, that's all she needs."
"How do you always have the right words to calm me down?"
"I just say a random sentence and it calms you down, because you are my daughter and your love for me convinces you that whatever I am saying is soothing even if it is not."
"Don't you hate me dad?"
"Why would I hate you, my child?"
"Because you lost your precious wife because of me."
"She died because of cancer, it isn't your fault hana." Her father said looking worriedly at his daughter.
"Yes she died because of cancer, that's what I used to believe too but now when I look back I ask myself that why she got that disease after my birth? I am a jinx dad. Nobody lives a better life around me. Mom died because of me, if she didn't give birth to me you would be here with her living a better life." She said between her sobs.
"My life became better because of you hana" His shiny eyes looked in the chocolate eyes of his daughter "Yes I lost my wife but she gave me you, you made me feel the emotions of a father hana. If you weren't here I would have never known how amazing it feels to be a father of an amazing daughter." He said while interlocking his hands with hers.
"You could adopt a daughter, dad" She said while wiping her tears.
"A daughter who wouldn't have the eyes identical to my wife, naah I don't want her." He chuckled. Both father and daughter laughed and he took her into his embrace. "You are not a jinx my child, you are a precious diamond, now you should go to sleep before your little monster wakes up." She lightly laughed and pulled herself out "yeah dad." She said and went to her room.
