It was a pleasant morning and two cute little boys were playing in the meadows forgetting the world. They were playing Tag while their parents were sitting afar keeping a watch over them. Soon two little girls came there and saw the boys playing there. They just stood there not moving and soon the boys’ eyes fell on the girls. After exchanging a glance they rushed towards them. Seeing the boys the girls clutched their hands and took two steps back. The boys stood in front of them panting.
Boy 1: “Are you two new to this place?” But none of the girls answered.
Boy 2: “Are you afraid?” This time too they didn’t get a reply. Suddenly the first boy shoved his hands into his pocket and took two chocolates. He extended it to the girls. Girl 1 immediately grabbed it with a wide smile while the second girl pouted. Seeing that, the second boy checked his pocket and got something. It was a cute little doll made out of chocolate wrapper. He extended it towards the girl 2. The second girl took it with a shy smile while the second boy grinned.
Boy 1: “I’m Adam” He said extending his little hand towards the first girl.
Girl 1: “I’m Belle” They shook hands smiling.
Boy 2: “I’m Dante” He said but didn’t forward his hand.
Girl 2: “I’m Beatrice” She said looking at the second boy and they smiled slightly.
Soon the boys’ parents came towards them.
Adam’s dad: “Who is this Adam? Are they your new friends?”
Adam: “Dad, This is Belle and this is Beatrice. They are new to this area it seems”
Dante: “And they are very shy” He said looking at Beatrice who blushed cutely.
Adam’s mom: “Really?” Saying, she and Dante’s mom kneeled in front of them.
Dante’s mom: “Where are your home sweeties? Where are your parents?”
Beatrice: “We don’t have parents” She said on the verge of crying. Belle immediately hugged her.
Belle: “We are new to this orphanage which is on the other side of the road. We came here to play” Her hold was strong on Beatrice whose eyes were lined with tears by now. As they were speaking they saw two men in security uniform coming towards them. Their face showed tension and it immediately disappeared when they saw Belle and Beatrice.
Security 1: “Thank God we found you. We were searching for you two everywhere”
Security 2: “Next time don’t go anywhere without informing elders. Ok?” He said politely seeing the scared girls who nodded their heads politely. They left the place holding the little girls’ hands. Both the girls were continuously turning back and gazing at the two boys whose eyes never left the two girls.
They kept waving until they found themselves drenched completely! Soon they heard a voice of a lady.
Lady: “Enough of day dreaming. Get up you two lazy geese or you both are going to swim out of this room” Hearing that two young girls in their early twenties sat up groaning.
Belle: “Enough lady Heleen. We’re up”
Beatrice: “When will you wake us up properly?”
Heleen: “When you both get up at my first call, that day I’ll wake you up politely. Now get up and get ready fast. Don’t forget you both have an interview and a shop to attend. Now quick. Get ready” Saying she went out. The girls exchanged looks.
Belle: “How can I forget my interview? I’m becoming so careless” Beatrice hugged her hearing it.
Beatrice: “Even if you didn’t get selected there are no worries. I’m there na? My shop is enough to take care of us. But you are the one who is stubborn to go for a job” Belle hugged her back.
Belle: “That will be unfair Beet. How can you manage everything on your own when it’s our JOINT RESPONSIBILITY? And we need to pay the rent, pay for Heleen” But was cut off.
Beatrice: “Ok Ok my dear. Please do as you wish. I won’t say anything. And I’m sure, this time you’ll surely get the job. All the very best” Soon both the girls got ready. After having breakfast, Belle headed to her interview while Beatrice started to her flower shop ‘FRAGRANCE’. As usual when she entered there was a bouquet of CHOCOLATE COSMOS. It was her most favourite flower and was not available in the country she was residing- France. Sighing she took it and went inside. She searched for any cards and she found one stating ‘Bonjour ma belle’ (Hello my beautiful darling) She rolled her eyes reading it. She very well knew the meaning but she didn’t throw it. She loved the flowers and placed it in the vase on her table. That’s when she saw her staffs entering inside one by one.
Most of her staffs were part time students and handicapped.
Sidra: “Hi sis, today too you got your flowers from your secret admirer?”
Beatrice: “Yes and that isn’t any secret admirer. And why did you come today? Don’t you have exams?”
Sidra: “No. I’m on my study holidays and I’ve completed my portions. And, that IS your secret admirer for sure”
Beatrice: “Whatever” Sidra giggled and went inside while Beatrice shook her head and concentrated on her work.
Sharp at 9.30 A.M, Belle reached the Woodverton Industries. After enquiring in the reception, she headed towards the 13th floor for her interview. She saw many candidates waiting there. After seeing them, she felt under-dressed. She was wearing a peach shirt with black pencil skirt reaching below her knees. But all the others here were wearing dresses that ended above their knees and were quite tight. Wondering to herself, she took her seat hoping she gets this job. After waiting for half an hour, she was called inside. There were three persons sitting, one old man and two young men. The third one was reading some file which was hiding his face. Handing over the file she waited and took her seat when they asked her to do so. The old man and the young men kept questioning her and she answered them sincerely. All the while, the face of the third man remained hidden. Soon the interview ended.
Young man: “Please wait outside Ms. Mann. We’ll announce the results after sometime” After thanking them, she came out and sat back in her place. After another half an hour, the interview ended and the young man and the old man came outside.
Young man: “We have selected two candidates. One is Mr. Harlow as my P.A and the other one is Ms. Mann as our CEO’s P.A. You both will be joining from tomorrow. Be here by sharp 9.00 A.M. You will get an email describing the details and you can receive your appointment order tomorrow. Thank you” Everyone dispersed except Harlow and Belle. They moved towards the young man and thanked them.
Young man: “I’m Ethan, H.R manager. Congratulations on your new job. And remember don’t be late tomorrow. Sir will not tolerate that” After nodding their heads, Harlow and Belle went from there. After coming out from the office, she immediately dialled Beatrice and conveyed the matter. She also asked her to come home soon and she too headed home.
Inside the office, Ethan entered the CEO’s cabin.
Ethan: “Are you sure you want her as your P.A sir? Her qualifications doesn’t suit this job”
CEO: “Everything isn’t about that Ethan. This is something that is beyond everything. You go” Nodding he went outside.
CEO: “I’ve waited for many years my Belle. And I can’t wait any more. This time I’ll make sure that you will become mine at all costs” He said and smirked to himself thinking about HIS BELLE.
