When the City Pools were first closed, it was due to an accidental drowning of a girl no older than 6 years of age. The authorities thought it best if the city pools would shut down until the untrue rumours of the incident died. It happened on 1921 on a cold winter day, the girl’s name was Elina Sarah Roberts Micksuschki, the evidence is still not clear. But experts are
almost sure that the accident happened because of a slip and fall, and that the girl is unable to swim. It has been decades since any of this has happened. And the city counsellors finally decided that the pool was ready to go back to its normal state before the drowning. The pool will soon reopen sometime in November, and authorities hope that the pool will once again go back to its popular and overused state.
