Chapter 1 : The M game
They were fighting. Quite fiercely I might say. Well, it was a battle worth watching. Air vs. Water. Oops! I phrased it wrong.
It was drizzling at first. Then the wind decided to take part in it. As if they were trying to prove who was superior to the other. Rain or the wind? ‘Baaam!!’
“Thunder?“,I thought. Well, it seems that he won’t back down in the war either. I was wondering, “Who would win? Not that I cared though......."
Anyhow not to mention but there were two other creatures that day who were fighting as well. Only they just decided to do it indoors.
I looked at them with zero interest in my face. The one with the aggressive look was Ray. The other who had his fists up like a boxer was probably Jeremy. I wondered why they were fighting. Even so, I didn’t have to think for long. It was most probably that raven haired girl’s doing. That idiot! You’re at least old enough to decide. Why the hell would you play the same ″cute girl act″ towards both of them?I’d rather not use the exact nickname to describe her. Let’s just say that the girl intentionally made both the boys hope for an alternate future. Sounds like a sci-fi plot, right?
Expectations and hopes are the two most dangerous things in this rotten world. They both have the ability to kill and hurt more than anything.
Just letting you all know!
It seems things might get bloody any moment now. Damn! No one’s even thinking of alerting a teacher about the commotion. They were loud. Both of them. “Give me a break. Let me read my book silently”, is what I wanted to say.
Although I couldn’t voice it out. “Why doesn’t someone stop them?“, a girl whispered.
Stopping them would be really easy. If only I put some effort.
(“Woah! Did I just sound cool like a hero? Anyhow my solution is a rather dull one.)
The only way I know to stop to stop two people from fighting eachother is to make them become friends again.
Now...
Question: how do you make two people fighting each other, best friends?
Answer: you give them a common enemy.
It’s quite easy to be one. Frankly speaking here, a ” Fuck you both!” is enough. Wait! If call that girl a “bitch” in front of Ray and Jeremy, I believe that would do the job. Those boys would surely come towards me with their fists. Although I would be the one who’d get beaten. But hey, It still would stop them from fighting. Problem solved.
Unfortunately, though I have nor the will or the reason to do so.
More like it would waste too much energy. Why bother?
I was always the boy who sat in the corner. “Stay put, stay out of trouble, stay better”, is the way I’ve lived my life up until now.
Come to think of it I am really average.
Specs: average.
Grades: average.
Talents: except the ‘saving myself and being lazy’ part; none, I guess.
Someone whom you would refer to as boring. And plain of course.
“Oy! What’s going on here?”
Finally, a teacher arrived. Finally some silence around here. “It seems now I would be able to read my novel peacefully”, I said to myself. ‘Grrngggg!!’
The sound of my phone vibrating pierced the silence I longed for. It was nothing but a message from Melissa.
Yup! You’ve heard it right. It’s a girl’s name. And yes, a girl just messaged me. There’s nothing for you guys to be shocked about.
Melissa Harp wasn’t a friend. She was someone whom I would love to forget. This annoying girl is my girlfriend.................
Correction: I mean my ex-girlfriend who was a year junior of mine.
Just because I’m plain and boring doesn’t mean that I never had a girlfriend. Not that I was into younger girls. I always thought that “same age relationships” never worked. Though we broke up anyways.
“After school, huh? I guess I could meet her.”, I said on my own.
School ended as usual. I grabbed my bag and started my journey towards the roof. Yup, it was the place where we used to meet up before.
The rain had stopped for a long time. It seemed that Mr. Sun was trying to peek behind the clouds.
A slim ray of golden light covered the rooftop. And there she was looking beautiful in her red dress; shocked as well. And so was I when I realized it was her white shirt soaked in her own blood.
It was the day when I found Melissa harp lying in a pool of blood.
“Oh! Leo, you’re here” said Ben.
“Yup, so what do we have here.”
“Nothing, mate. Although we didn’t even need your help.”
“Really? So you’re saying you caught the killer?” said Leo.
“Duhh! Look at this. It’s the victim’s phone” said Ben handing over the phone. Leo took the phone and checked the last message.
“Hey! Please meet me up at our usual place after school. We need to talk. It’s urgent.”
