Chapter 1

*EXTRA WARNING: USE OF STRONG LANGUAGE*

The room was filled with the beeping of the alarm and its flashing red lights.

"SHUT UP!"                                            Another day in Hell, just great. Half of the world is asleep, and I have to stand up to go back to that hell hole of a cafe. "Good morning, Sunshine." A good morning picture from Lizzy, like clockwork every day, even though I don't reply, she knows I'm saying it back.

"Girl, we've got work to do. Pass me the paint and glue. "Only Twenty-Four, but you feel like a woman in her Fifties. Why? Why is this word so cruel to us, I'm young and a woman, the worst combo to be in today's day and age. "Twenty-Four and no husband, you must put those birthing hips to good use." I can hear Barnabas Collins say to me if he was real. Got my keys, vape, and bus fare. At least I put on two of the same shoes today, one point for me.

Twenty minutes bus ride to work, the same apartments, same store fronts day in and day out, traffic becomes more and more of a circus each day here in New York City!!! Greatest place on earth, not! New Yorker, born and raised.

Deep breaths in and out. Let's do this. Apron, goofy hat, check. "Morning, welcome to Brew Topia! How can I help you?" With a name like Brew Topia you know you're paying extra for watered-down coffee because the manager is too cheap to buy enough beans or "Forgets" to buy, so the old grounds have to be thrown back into the machine when there are no customers. When a customer says the coffee doesn't taste right, we have to take it to the back and add some of the coffee syrup we use for the milkshake, if we don't or even want to say something you get it from our wonderfully horrible "Manager" Susan.

 BITCH.

A gym rat in her thirties that wears her hair so tight back in a bun to hide her wrinkles, but I think it's to make her look more snake like. She has made this place the hell hole it is. She breaks you down piece by piece with her words. She degrades everyone working here, likes to rub it in your face that her father owns the place, and she can fire us just like that!

"Oh Jane, can I see you in my office, now!"

Fuck. What does she devil want with me this time?

"Yes. SUSAN?" I just want to rip her head off!

"We've been getting some, Complaints, about you."

"ABOUT WHAT!"

"Now Now Jane. Don't you dare raise your voice at me. I'm your friend here, I'm just trying to help you. You must stop vaping immediately, you stink, and you must be nicer to our clients, especially Mrs. Scotts, Oh and you must pay for her dry cleaning for yesterday's, Accident."

"FUCK YOU SUSAN!! I don't stink! And I'm not paying her fucking dry cleaning, she threw me with that damn fucking coffee that was too bland because you're too cheap to buy decent coffee!"

"How dare you speak to me like that! Your ass is toast! This is your lats warning Jane!"

"You can that that warning and shove it up your man ass you fucking gym rat!"

"You'll never work in any Cafe ever again; I'll make sure you'll never get any job in this city ever again!"

"GOOD!"

My chest is burning! Feet please just start running, I have to get out of here! I HAVE TO GET OUT OF HERE.
