Chapter 1: Scars
Ethan Grey never liked mirrors. They showed too much — the boy with the prosthetic leg, the burn scars crawling up his thigh, and eyes that carried more shadows than years.
It had been eighteen months since the world ended, but for Ethan, it had ended long before.
Long before the virus swept through cities like wildfire. Long before the concrete jungle turned to rust and ruin. It ended the day his mother crashed the car into a tree, drunk and screaming, while he sat in the backseat. He woke up in a hospital with half his leg gone. And worse — the memory of his father’s fists and his mother’s empty gaze haunting him even when he closed his eyes.
PTSD, they called it. Post-traumatic stress disorder. But for Ethan, it felt like the past never stopped being present.
I didn't wrote how Ethan is bc I think it's better you imagine him how you want, also it's my first time writing a story and English isn't my first language.
