Prologue
The moon shone bright in the sky, the stars like glitter on black paper, the forest was quiet and dark like the abyss, only the sound of leaves brushed by the wind was heard from there.
No Bird no Squirrel, No Wolf no Rabbit, all quiet, all calm, all asleep.
In the nearby Castle there was a gargantuan Flame, shining of purple and red, green and Yellow, it was almost mocking with it's sizzling reminding someone of giggles.
Some figures adorned in the finest silks were gathered, adorning their necks and fingers with Silver and Gold, their faces with Masks wore like they were at a ball, on their head crowns of flowers one type for person.
On the side were cages, kids from 9 to 11, they were there like any other commodity, some already taken to them some waiting in chains.
A kid was hugging his sister, their brown hairs reminiscing of the bark of the trees of the nearby forest, the kid with golden eyes and the sister with crimson ones.
Soon someone arrived, took the kid out of the cages brought to the center and stripped bare.
The head and the host of the gathering grew near, brought him near the Flame and made him watch it like the others were lost in worship.
He took the kid hands, the back of them burning on the flame before being thrown away as he screamed in pain, at the center of a ring he was, Iron was all he could smell, as he looked tge ring was of a crimson liquid, the head arrived near and chanted.
"The Bud is ready, the blooming is near, the Rose and The Lily must unite, so that the Twilight be granted to us!"
As he shouted this rambling the head looked at the sky, the people that were with him made choir at every sentence.
And the moon high on the castle shown of a deep Yellow for a moment... and they cheered like a miracle was granted.
And in just a moment the kid looking at the Yellow moon had his eye shine just as bright, his brain felt foggy and clear, full and empty, as the burns on his hand started to heal, on the left hand a drawing appeared, a rose, drawn in black ink and very simplified and as the people cheered some more his right hand trembled as well.
But what was for that group a joyous moment, was soon ruined.
Soldiers and knights inrrupted the castle's walls and shot, they fell one after another, fell as the kid started screaming in pain.
That night was ruined for them but the head was still joyous, the clock had started turning and the time will soon arrive and even if they can't grasp it the week it was fated this year, then they will await another 13 and soon they will have the promised child, the promised saviour, the promised king.
But the night was now over.
